Anyone work with Parents?

Just like the title says, do any of you work with your Mom or Dad?

I work full time with my Dad, and I swear, somtimes I just want to go insane.. It's a really tough thing to do, there's just such a fine line between personal and business related feelings..

I'd hate it. Couldn't do it. I meet a guy the other day though that started a job with a guy that killed his aunt, he quit the next day. Now that would be difficult.

I used to work with my mom for a CPA. NO BUENO!

I love my mom to death and we get along great, but I was going insane working with her.

I assume the murder happened a long time ago. I didn't ask the for the details but it is possible that the guy never went to prison. But the person I spoke to was 100% sure that the man he was working with was the murderer of his aunt. He told me that he didn't want to be in that situation so he quit the job.

My 17 yr old son works with my brother in law during the summer. He's a plumber and my kid has worked during the summer with him since he was 14. He's learned a lot, and has a chance in the world just from experience in the working world. We pay him 40 bucks a week and my brother in law pays him according to hours worked and jobs done.

Some days may be long and others short. But he comes home dirty most days, but he pockets about 80 to 100 bucks on friday, tax free. Plus the extra money I give him cause I feel sorry for the guy when he's all nasty and tired instead of doing the summer vacation like his friends.

Working with family can work, But I couldn't do it. I'd be to easy on him. :o

hahahaha that's funny

I work with my mom almost every day at a pizza place that is owned by my cousin. I don't mind it at all, it's pretty easy going and I can go down and get a pizza or drink or anything I could possibly want at any time for free. The only that sucks is since it's family owned I'm always the one assumed that won't mind working for one of my family members if they want to go do something else.

I work with my old man, hes one of the owners of the company i work for.

Its not that bad.

We just know how to keep business and personal life seperate.

i could never work with my mom. she is the most "professional" minded person you would ever meet. her attitude is all business, whether it be at home or at work, she is in work mode. i can barely stand living with her for 4 months of the year while im off school.

besides, i cant work with my mom because she is too high of a position in her work that they forbid any family being hired. im guessing to avoid favoritism.

I worked with my dad for a short time in his bakery (at the time), and it wasn't bad. Before that, I went to vocational school, with my dad in my same class. I was post-secondary also, so we were there together ALL day long. He took it just for something to do at first, and ended up completing the 2 year course. We'd get out of school, he'd go home, and I'd go to my 40 Hr. week job. It was nice having someone to wake me up in the event that I doze off. LOL

It was kind of awkward at the time- at first anyway. But looking back, it was a blast. We had alot of fun.

I worked with my dad a long time ago and it sucked. Dad was extra hard on me because I was his son so I had bettered put in that extra effort.

I could never work with my mom. She would drive me crazy just constantly asking me how to do stuff. Oh wait, she kinda does that already. I swear my mom is horrible with computers and yet she uses one everyday. Don't know how. Anyways, we work for the same company, but since we are related, we can't work in the same department. I could work with my dad, but I wouldn't want to do what he does/did. Iron Worker, that's some tough shit and it jacks your body up.
