I've been noticing a trend when taking out the trash lately..

The last month or so has seen me recycle at least twice as much as I put in the trash. With the exception of fresh produce, all of the food, etc. that I buy comes in packages that can be recycled. And all of the literature that comes into the house can be recycled as well. Anyways, just something I noticed.. Kinda made me happy :)

I recycle wheneve I can like plastic, paper products, and like cans.

It sort of feels good when you recycle.

Anyone remember remember this song from Rocko's Modern Life?.... clip

my trash service makes me pay almost twice the normal fee to recycle through them.

Ill sit here all smug and shit in the middle of a bunch of gas guzzlers with my 40mpg honda

lol

I can't remember what I pay. I'm happy with my service though. The company handed out 65-gallon recycle bins and 80-gallon garbage cans for free. The garbage can takes me FOREVER to fill up. So much so that my sister actually cancelled her service through them, and she now brings her garbage to my house.

i dont pay for trash directly...its in my tuition/room and board..but i try to recycle our paper, cans, and plastics whenever.

my roommates and i actually have a community recycle bin in our suite that only we use..lol..were too lazy to use the one that is in the common room of our dorm.

I try to recycle since we started the new program here. I'll recycle the paper and cardbaord stuff. I used to do the cans but it's a pain in the ass sometimes.. I aint as green as should be.. :D

I used to live in oregon for a few years, and they're recycle-nuts up there.
They have machines that will sort your cans, plastic bottles, etc..and its like a nickel or ten cents a piece for everything you recycle. Thats how me and my friends paid for our beer in high school.

She lives by herself, produces about a bag a week, and she lives about a mile away. It makes sense. A lot of times she goes for two or three weeks without dropping anything off. What would be retarded is if she paid for use of that 65 gallon recycle bin, and the use of that 80 gallon trash can every month, since she doesn't need anywhere near that capacity. That would be like me continuing to pay insurance for the car I sold two years ago.. Pointless.

Im part of the problem and not the solution :(

We have weekly trash pickup and bi-weekly recycling.

Wifey and I average one or two bags of trash a week, and we fill two recycle bins with cans (with three dogs and two cats, that's a lot of cans!) and plastics. I break down the small cardboard, like cereal boxes and such and place it in a paper bag. Bigger cardboard boxes get broken down and bundled for recycling.

We "recycle" our newspapers at Buddy Dog Humane Society, a no kill animal shelter. They use then in the puppy pens and the cat room.
