Any Marines in Here?
Hey, got a quick question. My little bro just left for Parris Island on Dec. 29th. He just sent us all his info about where to send mail and what to send/not to send etc. It said no magazines, newspapers or porno, but it said nothing about personal pictures. I was just wondering if I could send him a few pictures of stuff thats goin on around here. I Guess the worst that could happen is they take them away right? Thanks, Semper Fi!

Yes you can send personal pictures if you want. He will be able to keep those in his footlocker. Just make sure the pictures are in good taste, ie no gang stuff, half naked girls, drugs in the pics, etc etc. Write to him as much as you can, he will appreciate it. We were always looking forward to letters from home.

+1 Marines. I guess +2 since your brother is in also.:D What type aircraft do you work on? or do you get to work on them all? I was a UH-1 crewchief (Army) and our avionics techs were our best friends. Thank you for you and brother's service and committment.

Well there I go not being able to follow a thread and sticking my foot in my mouth. Sounds like you have a cool job though. Thanks for using some tact and not calling me a complete moron. :D

y'all have the same deal as the air force when it comes to what people can receive while they are in boot camp...
letters helped with morale no one liked being the guy that didnt receive shit while they were there. in the air force we couldnt recieve any pictures but we did get them at the end and the naked ones were passed around and OMG some of them bitches were nasty (in a bad way). that was 6 years ago so things may have changed. i got my CJR last year, CJR is my job reservation, and its good till august 2010 so i still have lots of time to decide if i want to stay or GTFO! my hands go down to you marines i couldnt do what you guys do...im a wrench turner and wouldnt trade it for anything. swervo i work on aerospace ground equipment so you know how shitty that equipment is. |
i was almost aviation electrician...but ended up getting tactical data network system specialist

speaking of...we had quite a few kids get some half naked pictures from girls back at home. Our DI's ate that up. The pictures were handed around to everyone...lol...it sucked but its funny after the fact. Dont send food though. Send cough drops, those things are like gold in boot camp, and maybe some stamps so he can write back. I'm just at my 3 year mark, reenlisting though.
