Im not impressed at all. Ford blew it.

01FR500 11-17-2008 08:39 PM

I don't think there is much wrong with it, but I'm not a tough customer either. I like it alot more than the current 05-09s. Just the fact that it is supposed to be lighter is enough to win me over. I think it will be the "New Edge" of the 197's.

Mr. Zip 11-17-2008 08:39 PM

Damn, are you kidding? That's the sexiest one yet!

Ghostalker 11-17-2008 08:53 PM

DAMN
I love it. I really do. I was not expecting that little "muscle line" below the rear 1/4 window, holy crap that is a sexy car. Check it out in sterling grey. I am impressed. I thought the 05-09 wasnt agressive enough, and I think this is perfect.

PistonsFan102 11-17-2008 09:01 PM

GT has 315 hp.......weak!

The new Camaro looks much better IMO, I hate to say it.

JackThe Ripper 11-17-2008 09:02 PM

Wow! it looks great!

SeanStang 11-17-2008 09:19 PM

Looks a lot better than I expected i gotta say! The thick antenna on the rear just looks stupid though, and I don't understand why they used so much black plastic shit on the rocker panels and bumpers, just makes it look cheap. Other than that it looks pretty badass, but not better than the New Edge stangs though...:smokin:

PColav6 11-17-2008 09:35 PM

Beautiful!

King 11-17-2008 10:03 PM

I like it! Other than the plastic, looks wise, it's perfect. I love the Sterling Grey too! I may just have to get one. We'll see. I want to see it first hand, drive one and then decide. But this may very well by my next car when I get back from college...

Still not a fan of the verts... But still Dayum

King 11-17-2008 10:55 PM

I'm seriously considering selling the Mach for this....I'm just speechless. I love it!

I still want to see it first hand, but if it's anything like the pictures then it's worth it to me.

i know dude im with you on that id rather have the camaro....what really looks terrible is the new challenger. WTF happened with that, looks like shit.

Stephen4036 11-18-2008 12:13 AM

very nice

Steeda97 11-18-2008 04:27 AM

I am so disapointed I don't even know what to say. Those wheels are hideous. Only 315 hp? You can get more out of a 05-09 with just a cold air intake and tune. This is bullshit.

I am 90% on my way to just buying a C6. Fuck this.

Steeda97 11-18-2008 04:34 AM

Why no pictures with the wheels they put on the website? They are 100 times better.

I've been reading up on this thing and the only good thing I hear is a 3.73 gear option.

Ugh. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'll probably get it anyway. No glass roof option with 3.73's? How gay.

Havokk 11-18-2008 04:34 AM

I love it but damn, I hate the back of it. And the convertible looks digusting. I hope they chang the taillights back to the way they were.

98mustangv6 11-18-2008 04:40 AM

i like this alot better than the models from the last couple years! i think it looks sicks but yeah i do agree ford is going to have some competition with the camaro.

Steeda97 11-18-2008 04:50 AM

With 3.73's this thing should be at least 13 flat if not 12.99s. Anyone agree?

Steeda97 11-18-2008 04:54 AM

And whats with the plastic pieces all over the place? They hyped up this thing like it was supposed to be the shit. Fuck that.

Maybe it will grow on me. It better.

I'll agree that the camaro is the shit compared to the new mustang and the Challenger for that matter. But how can you say the challenger looks terrible. I'd rather drive the challenger than this new mustang. Hemi dude!!! HEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIII

I completely agree.

I do not like all that cheap plastic shit. I absolutely hate the rear, it is ugly as hell.

However, I love the interior. Those lighted door sills are awesome. I love the steering wheel, too. I also love the front end, it looks mean.

I don't really have anything else nice to say. It doesn't really do anything for me. I look at it and think that it is some dude's S197 that he just changed a few things on and did a few aftermarket things that are kind of cool, but left some things alone and expects everyone to 'ooooh and ahhhh' over it, when it is really nothing special.

But... I will love the 2010 because it is a Mustang and they all have my unconditional love. :)

I'm the exact same way, but I actually really like this model. Even the plastic in the grill is growing on me a little, but the rest of the plastic is the only thing I don't like. I absolutely love the interior, too!

I can't wait to see it in real life to see how much smaller it really is, but so far I'm in love.

I thought the Challenger look terrible too, untill I saw it in person and almost pissed my pants because it was so nice.

And like always I'll say "go" before "show". I was reall hoping for 350 hp with this car. Every one was speculating how much hp it will have and I dont think any speculated only 315.

We will see what happens but I don't think the new camaro will be that much faster than the mustang for one the v6 camaro will not even be as fast as the edge body mustang GTs it's heavier and has IRS which is not so great in a drag race. The 400 hp camaro will still outweigh the new gt especially if they took some wight of the mustang and once again the camaro still has the IRS. Yes it will be faster but for the price I think the mustang will come out on top and Mustangs will always have cheaper mods at lower prices than the camaro

New mustang looks hot BTW

Lazerred6 11-18-2008 07:24 AM

And if you don't like the new stang but have the money to spare buy yourself a nice 03-04 cobra cause the new camaro ss still won't stand a chance against that

Black Sunshine 11-18-2008 08:46 AM

I found this on another forum:

According to chief engineer Paul Randle, the current Bullitt has been considered the best Mustang ever in many respects thanks to its wonderful balance of handling and power, so it was chosen as the baseline for the new GT.

The 2010 GT retains its 4.6L three-valve V8, which has now been bumped up to 315 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. The air intake has been reworked so that fresh air is drawn from behind the grille rather than from the wheel well. The duct from the air filter box to the throttle body has been straightened and smoothed out to reduce flow restriction. The whole car has also been stiffened and new sound insulation has been added for a quieter driving experience.

Since Mustang drivers still like to hear the roar of a big V8, the engineers have compensated. A small tube coming off the side of the duct runs to the passenger compartment giving occupants some of that V8 induction sound directly. GT models with the new 19-inch wheel-and-tire package also get an aluminum strut tower brace to stiffen the car's structure further. The base 4.0L V6 remains unchanged for 2010, although 2011 or soon after will probably see the Mustang follow the Escape's path with more significant powertrain upgrades. That's when we're likely to see Ford's smaller displacement, turbocharged, direct-inject EcoBoost engines added to the pony.

One important thing that hasn't changed much is weight. The 2010 V6 Mustang only picks up 15 lbs compared to the 2009 model, while the GT climbs just 35 lbs. That means Mustangs still have an advantage of about 400-500 lbs over the new Camaro and even more compared to the larger Challenger.

Ghostalker 11-18-2008 08:54 AM

The (zombie?) pony car wars are alive and well it seems.
