Got a few $$$

Sold some of my stock parts and want to invest in some mods. Definitely getting a CAI and short antenna, but I am debating on what else. And it's late and my meds haven't kicked in yet so I thought I would see what u guys suggest. Don't have enough for gears, on my potential list is:

sequential tail lights
hood struts
honeycomb rear panel
car cover
plenum cover

Feedback...

Oh yeah, and I just got straight pipes this week....woooohooo I Love EM!!

engineman312 10-23-2008 09:56 PM

i like sequential tail lights... but save for gears.

mustangrn 10-23-2008 10:07 PM

Never fear gears are coming in the spring.

I've been wanting to get the rear honeycomb panel for a while. I'm trying to even out a black on red theme here. Since you've got the black on yellow thing going on, I think it would look great. And the sequential lights will add to the awe effect. Saw an 04 stang with them and I was impressed. Other than that your car is just about perfect. IMHO.. ;)

If you don't already have a tuner, get one to go with the CAI.

What he said. ^^

When you do get gears, get 4.10's. You will love them! Also, the tuner will come in handy with the gears.

Do not bother buying an antenna you can cut your stocker down for free. I would save and use the money on gears before I got any of those other items listed.

4.10s

I know I ma going to get a bashing for this but i had the 4.10s and removed them and went back to the 3.55s because I lost so much top end.

To each their own though....

Springs? How is the stance of your stang? I just put 20"s with a low pro tire and dropped it about 1.5 in the back and 1.25 in the front...thwe thing is beeeautiful.

The car has a pretty sweet stance right now.

Could stand to drop bout an 1 in front and 1.25 in rear but that's not very high on the list.

Between here and the other boards I have been swayed to go with a cai and tune. I think that will be the most bang for my buck. Plus Christmas and my anniversary are coming up, I would rather get stuff for my car than any flowers or candy crap.

Thanks for all the input and any more is welcome.

I would get a chin spoiler.

Steeda97 10-25-2008 07:30 AM

Chin spoiler.

Please do not get a honeycomb rear panel. Honeycomb is the worst idea anyone has ever had. Its incredibly ugly.

This is sooo much better!

I would definitely get it dyno tuned. That'd be number 1 on my list if i were you. Especially with those "straight pipes", i'm sure your in need of a tune.

I don't want to invest in a chin spoiler just yet. Where we live, not to mention how I drive, chances are it would only get jacked up and I would end up ripping it off.

The honeycomb panel compliments the retro look of my car. The one in your link looks more for a modern style.

I have noticed a definite increase in power and decrease in fuel milage. A tune is absolutely in order.

engineman312 10-25-2008 11:27 AM

the chin spoilers are surprisingly resiliant.

how did you lose top end? are you talking about power to the wheels or are you referring to speed?

CAI + tune seems the way to go with those year mustangs

That's what I have, minus the GT logo. It looks awesome, but it was a royal pain in the ass to install.

Straight pipes alone on our cars don't need a tune. They run just fine without one.

"Could stand to drop bout an 1 in front and 1.25 in rear but that's not very high on the list." arent you suppose to drop more in front?

King 10-26-2008 12:13 PM

The only input I have here is the honeycomb rear panel. I think those are a overdone. Almost every mustang in town has one here. If it were me, I'd go with the magnetic rear panel, looks smoother too. But it's your car.
