The *Official* 2010 Mustang Thread

I'm not sure that this forum is really interested in the new Mustang that is coming out.

From what i can tell from the pictures, it really looks like the 67. The interior is 99% the same.

Heres a 67 Mustang interior:

Heres the 2010:

Discuss maybe?

its kind of hard to get excited about something that is gonna be priced pretty far out of yer price range. from what uim gathering the GT's will start around 30, you know they will be nearly 40k after markups and such

Steeda97 10-17-2008 07:37 PM

I doubt they'll mark-up GT's. They usually only do that for special editions. Also with the economy in the shithole, and gas prices up there, i doubt they'll mark up a car they are probably going to barely sell.

Meh.....I'm really getting tired of car companies like chevy/ford/chrysler trying to bring back the muscle cars with these cheap imitations. Those days are gone and the consumers who truly appreciated muscle cars are no longer interested in these cheapos.

WTF are you kidding me? They had the 05 GT's marked up about 7-8 grand when they came out. Economy issues or not, people are gonna be willing to pay what the dealers charge

Steeda97 10-18-2008 11:22 AM

Like i said, the last thing people are doing these days is buying a gas guzzling mustang. I highly doubt they will have a dealer mark up, but I will say that dealers will try not to go under MSRP any way possible.

Gas is down to 2.80 here
Which means that even I, a poor college student, don't give a crap about gas prices.
Although there are always going to be people who do care, and for those people, we offer them the wonderful V6 models which, supposedly, will be making a crap load of HP.

Gas is going to go up right after the election so don't get use to it.

As if gas prices in America have nothing to do with global economics and everything to do with mccain and obama

Haha, you sure about that?

WaterDR 10-18-2008 07:10 PM

No one has money for cars these days and the banks are not giving out loans. Mights as well be a $140k Mustang, because no one will be buying it.

zigzagg321 10-18-2008 07:14 PM

I dont see the pic of the 2010 interior.

I have not read this anywhere. Do you by chance have numbers? Or a guesstimation?

compared to two months ago, oil prices dropped to half of what they were. gas prices dropped about an 1/8 to 1/4 of what they were. politics effect gas prices.

Well the pictures of the V6 interior shows a speedometer that reads, from what we can see, 140 mph. I'm not sure how much faster they will be, but its just speculation for now.

Politics have very little to do with current fuel prices. Oil was up this year 50% due to speculation in the free market. The recent economic stress has resulted in a prediction that less oil will be needed in a global recession. Oil is a raw material used in many products, and when product slows, the need for oil drops. The same pressures that then drove prices up, are now driving prices down. It is speculation in the opposite direction.

Gas prices don't drop as rapidly at the pump because the consumer is still willing to pay the price. The fuel stations merely charge what the market will bear PERIOD. Politics only plays a part in regards to taxes or when politicians can apply pressure.

Oil has NEVER fallen this far this fast. The local markets still have not caught-up yet to the decline in oil prices and the station opwners will continue to make what they can. Many of these guys who are making a killing now, were getting their teeth kicked-in over the summer.

We are also seeing HUGE variations in pump prices across the country. I saw gas at $4.25 a gallon in Chicago last weekend, and found it for $2.35 a gallon in Red Wing, MN yesterday.

For those fans of Obama, kow this, Chicago fuel prices are higher, in part, because of HUGE taxes. Also, if you live in the windy city, you will pay exorbitant housing property taxes and 10% sales tax. Be careful what you wish for, Obama is going to tax us into oblivian.

Use a fancy word like exorbitant only to end up spelling oblivien wrong. lol :p

engineman312 10-20-2008 07:11 AM

i'm not going to pay attention to the new mustang until the new 5.0 engine comes out in 2011.

Steeda97 10-20-2008 01:40 PM

I don't know why they'd put the new engine in the 2011 and not the 2010. It will be in the 2010 for sure.

You say that like it is a bad thing....

Let's see, the muscle car era = Uncomfortable cars with crappy radios and terrible suspensions that can only drive in a straight line. Not to mention, constant break-downs from engines designed to last 75,000 miles if you are lucky.
