Blackberry Pearl?

So, Sprint finally upgraded me and gave me the option between the Samsung instinct and the Blackberry pearl for $129. Given my latest experience with samsung I opted to go with the Pearl. Plus the Instinct doesn't have any keys, it's totally touch screen which didn't seem too convenient to me.

Now I've got the pearl and honestly it's a pretty confusing phone. They settings are strange and the "qwerty" keyboard is a little awckward. I've only messed around with it for a few minutes, but so far it doesn't seem very user friendly.

Anyone have any input, should I go back and switch it for the Instinct? Need some insight, I'm a little out of the loop as far as phone technology goes..

I would say go witht he instinct if your not going to be doing a lot of emails and such with the blackberry. The instinct will be better for all the multimedia stuff and internet. Blackberries are good for business stuff and emails. The Pearl isnt that great of a blackberry. It is the "fun" version I guess of blackberry. If your gonna go Blackberry, I would suggest like the Curve or something. I say go with the instinct

I had the pearl for 2 days, then got a refund and got the Curve. I didnt like the pearl. and $129??? I got my Curve for $99 for my upgrade. Sprint sucks.

Went back and got the Samsung 520.. Does everything that I need and is functional.

They were going to give me the curve for 79...

I work for sprint and can tell your right now sprint has the best service. I have worked for verizon (sprints biggest competitor) and the network and coverage don't match sprints. With that said. The blackberry curve would have been a better option between the pearl and the instinct. The curve in my opinion, is one of the best phones ever made. The software they put in them is amazing. The m520 is a excellent phone if all you're looking for an easy to use phone with nice features on it..

I always had better signal/service with Verizon, but Sprint is a good company.

I went with the 520 because it still has everything that I need, it's compact and easy to use. Has GPS, Internet and Text. I've already figured out how to add ringtones without buying them from Sprint, so that's nice.

I definitely think Blackberry is a good phone, but it's a littly tricky to learn and honestly it just had more features than I needed. I liked the Instinct because it had all of those features, but was a bit easier to use, but their reviews at the store were less than Stellar. Overall I'm happy with my decision.

I only wish the 520 had a 2mp camera, but that being the only sacrifice I thinkit's worth it.

Ive had many BB and using right now the 8820. Its great once you get use to the track ball as the previous one had a sroll wheel. Best thing is that I can use it one handed with either hand. I think the Curves and Pearls keyboard is too small and the 8820 is just right.

Anyone know of any good Ringtone sites? Just want to download .30 sec MP3 clips. Too lazy right now to make them myself.. lol

i make my own ring tones. i use a program called Audacity to edit the songs...then save the 15-25 second clip and send it to my phone via bluetooth. then i send the sound file via multimedia text message and save as a ring tone. its cheaper than buying the ringtones @ 1.99 (verizon price).

I have had both Sprint and Verizon and I can say that for me they have both been about the same. I ditched sprint cause at the time their phones were sucking balls and it seemed like I was paying too much for my service. I've been happy with Verizon ever since and think they have some of the better phones out there. Isn't Sprint not doing so well anyways?

just make your own with the desktop wizard and your own mp3's

I've got the Curve. The Pearl didn't seem very Blackberry-like to me because of the strange keypad. The Curve seemed much more durable than a complete touchscreen(and I hate sliders), so here I am. I've sat on it a few times by accident since I carry it in my back pocket, dropped it a couple more and its in perfect condition! Of course, I bought a little gel jacket for it. Keeps all the dings, scrapes and dents off.

I have a blackberry curve and absolutely love it. It took a few days to get used to the keypad, but now that I am used to it, i love it. I couldn't imagine going back to a normal keypad.
