Disinfecting with household bleach kills some, but not all, types of disease-causing organisms. The bleach must contain chlorine in order to work. Do not use scented bleaches, color-safe bleaches, or bleaches with added cleaners. Most household chlorine bleaches have 4-6% available chlorine, in which case you should add 1/8 teaspoon (8 drops) of regular, unscented, liquid household bleach for each gallon of water (2 drops per Liter), stir it well and let it stand for 30 minutes before you use it. Check the label; if the percentage of available chlorine is around 1%, or you don't know what the percentage is, use 40 drops per gallon or 10 drops per Liter; if the percentage is 7-10%, use 4 drops per gallon or 1 drop per Liter. Double the amount of chlorine if the water is cloudy, murky, or colored, or if the water is extremely cold. If after sitting covered for 30 minutes the water doesn't have a slight chlorine odor, repeat the dosage and let sit for another 15 minutes.[5]

yeah that thing really switched course overnight. At least its not going to be a 4 like they thought the other day. I don't even think we will get much wind/rain over the weekend anymore. Good luck to those of you on the coast and houston. Its good to see quite a few on the coast left there was quite a bit of traffic on I35 today

Lazerred6 09-12-2008 10:23 AM

Dave04Mustang 09-12-2008 07:19 PM

Dodobird223 09-12-2008 07:44 PM

I'm going to go and cut down this tree in front of my neighbors yard as soon as the hurricane is at full strength here. I don't lke them.

I just feel sorry for the people who see me outside and are scared because there's some kid cutting down a tree in the middle of a fucking hurricane.

Just kidding. I'm actually going to go stand outside naked.
Also kidding. I am the master chief.

But seriously, this is gonna be one helluva storm.

My car's under a tree. My father's math sucks

1(68 x Camaro x SS/RS)+1(2009 x Infinity x G35) > 1(2004 x Mustang x GT) +1(2005 x 2500 x HD)

But yea I hope everyone here stays safe. Starting to get windy, no rain here yet though.

Must See 09-12-2008 07:47 PM

just moved my car all the way across campus to the parking garage :) that was a long walk

Just about the truth. You know, I drove 70+ everywhere today and passed several cops and never got pulled over... I want there to be days before hurricanes more often....

SnTBakosFinest 09-12-2008 08:09 PM

just to give you an update...

I have power up here at college but the rest of the town doesnt... I think its because im close to the prison. My family in Houston has no power and doesnt know when there getting it back. Galveston on the other hand got raped almost as bad as N.O. if not worse and currently inhabitable. Down Town Houston got hit pretty hard as well some people may not get power back for 2-4 weeks. But there making progress. Up here at school we don't have classes until Wed.

Oh and the other stang made it through the Storm :)

Dave04Mustang 09-14-2008 05:06 PM

yeah I saw some pictures of downtown Houston and Galveston on the news. Pretty wild especially the Chase towers in Houston. Amazingly where I'm at college we didn't get a drop of rain from Ike since it switched course. It actually ended up being 102 saturday. Back at home just north of Austin I guess they just got wind

everything is fine up here, it was a CAT 1 by the time it got to us. alot of trees down and power is out. But for some reason the dorms have power. I think becasue were so close to the prision. we have a curfew in place from 8pm-6am and no classes till wed. everything is fine on my end no damage to my stufff just some downed trees and tree limbs

3.8LMustang 09-14-2008 05:48 PM

coo coo

JackThe Ripper 09-14-2008 07:57 PM

hell man, it is wreaking havoc in cinncinnatti, dayton, columbus, and such. got tons of pwowwer outages, ive been busy as hell at work doing reroutes for customers.

ugh

Dodobird223 09-18-2008 08:07 PM

Still out of power.... No real damage, 15 trees went down in my court alone, one a not so big one hit my car, denting the shit outa the side... a big tree fell on my house but didn't damage it.

My clutch died saturday afternoon. That sucked, just ordered a centerforce dual friction 3 days ago, hoping to get it today.

venom 09-19-2008 01:38 PM

I was without power for 6 days the last major storm we had here.

719mazda 09-20-2008 08:48 PM

I finally am home with power. My street is the ONLY street in my city (1,700 pop.) that did not get damaged. The rest of the city has damage, some catastrophic. I am 2 miles from Galveston Bay, my house had water knocking on the garage door at 12 feet above sea level, no kidding. My Mustangs survived, about 6 inches of water in the garage only, because my house is built so high. We evacuated 145 miles north of our city and still felt the high winds and loss of power, that far away. A yacht club is 2 miles from me and the yachts are stacked up on the parking lot like toys. I will try and attach a photo, need to go take some. My stocked bass pond is a loss, the salt water infiltrated the fresh water and killed my bass, perch and catfish. Just hooked a 10 pound bass a month ago...:(

So, time to reflect and thank the man above for our lives and well being. Been a rough week. :)
