Buying eyeglasses frames online?

Okay, so after years of having a hard time reading stuff from sitting on the back of the class I've decided to get some eyeglasses the other day since I have insurance. I bought some that should be coming in on monday and they were around $150. There were some nicer ones but they were pretty expensive and I checked the same ones online for much much less. My quesion is; If I buy some frames online, can I go to my doctor and have the lenses put in? How does this work? There's tons and tons of nice frames that are alot cheaper than at the doctor and I would not mind buying them for the price on the net. Anyone with some experience help me out.

My insurance from work pays for a wide variety of frames. As long as they are the ones on the list. Also pays for my safety glasses (required at work). I only have to pay extra if I want lineless bifocals or frames not on the list.. Just got my new prescription 2 weeks ago. My eyesight gets worse every year.. :(

Ive had lenses updated on my glasses. I would ask your doctor if he can do that. Just be careful with designer frames as you may be buying cheap imitation so do the research and make sure they are legit.
