Letter of apology...

Ok guys. here goes. I messed up. I got upset because I had already won the ebay bidding for the v6 bumper and figured I was obligated to buy it. Sorry to blow up to everyone I blew up at. Well, turns out, I never got a response form the guy about the shipping price of the bumper(not indicated anywhere on bidding, nor any indication of any estimate) so I decided not to go forth with it. I've decided to go elsewhere with my catback future. It's too much of a risk with ground clearance, looks, and overall quality so I decided to not do it. So now I'm unsure which catback to get, but I know I don't want the side exhaust. Now I am open to any exhaust. I can afford pretty much any kind. I was about to put $200 into a bumper and $700 into the exhaust, so...any ideas?

Go complete Bassani, great sound and you said you don't mind the cost.Or Magnapacks with a MRT SS H pipe.

dannyb785 07-01-2005 08:42 PM

Where can I get that from? I know alot of ebay items are free shipping, so I'd rather go that way.

venom 07-01-2005 08:49 PM

What is the problem with your slps? There is a member that has the slps 2 and wants the slps 1. You guys can just trade resonators.

dannyb785 07-01-2005 09:00 PM

my resonators cant simply disconnect. I think i'd hafta cut them off. the loudmouth 2 makes it easier to disconnect.

but you bring up a good point venom... perhaps I should just do the new headers next...

dammit, decisions decisions

venom 07-01-2005 09:02 PM

What is the problem you are having? Maybe you need to switch from xpipe to hpipe.

dannyb785 07-01-2005 09:11 PM

I'm not having a problem...

I never said I tried to disconnect to resonators. I just think it'd be tough but I dont even remember if theyre already welded or just clamped

venom 07-01-2005 09:23 PM

Slps are clamped on unless you got one of the early production ones. You still have not explained why do you want to change setup? I got the slp because I wanted something louder, now your turn.

dannyb785 07-01-2005 09:25 PM

Well, originally, it was side exhaust to be different. But now that I think about it, I don't really need a new catback. I've wanted to get headers for a while, so with the money I woulda spent on the exhaust, i'll spend on the headers

Beer_farts 07-02-2005 12:13 AM

I have magnaflow. I got them for $343.00 shipped.

Damn that spider got big.....

$900

With almost a grand to spend, you open up all sorts of interesting alternatives. Long tube headers will give you the most hp - and you have just about enough to foot the bill (labor is rather high for headers on our cars, due to access problems). If you already have SLP components, check out their offerings, or see what they have right here at Mustang Tuning.

HOWEVER, I'd spend my money elsewhere. $1000 is a handsome downpayment toward a supercharger, or about enough for a nitrous rig. Both will yield some really serious gains, of course.

That $1000 would also pay for Fox Lake (or comparable shop) to cnc port your heads, with enough left over for new valve springs and retainers.

All these things will yield horsepower, just depends on what you want.

luck with whatever you choose!

sorry man. I appreciate those suggestions. And I'm sure I'll do them down the road. But the deal is, before the stang, my '92 ford taurus broke down so much. And I put so much into it, it makes me sick today. Just for like, a/c, motor mounts, and a few other dumb thing that costed so much. So basicallly, I'll do a complete exhaust overhaul(intake, headers, etc) , underdrive pulleys, lowering springs, etc, but nothing like a sc, chip, or anythign of that sort because with the money I'm putting into the warranty alone, it sure as hell better last me the 6 years I have it for.

However, i AM only about 2 weeks away from new headers. I'm seriously considering the slp's along w/ the shorty x-pipe. I believe that'll be a nice upgrade. But I really wanna wait a lil longer til I can afford UDP's and a new throttle body/plenum and put it in all at once. That's nearly 50 hp added (headers, tb/plenum and UDP combined)and I would pee my pants in joy over the increased power.. so...we'll see....but it'll definitely all be done by the end of summer.
