Gas Money

Ok, here goes, Who thinks gas is gonna keep going up, and who thinks gas is gonna go back down.

I personally think gas prices will eventually drop, possibly back to below 3 bucks a gallon.
The automotive industry in this country is starting to have serious issues with sales of their featured models, ie. SUV's, Trucks, anything that doesn't get at least 30mpg.

Aren't our big 3 Automakers powerful enough to cause a big change in this situation.

I argue the point that our automobile industry is, at the very least, as strong and influential as our big oil industries..

You can't make me believe that americans are gonna quit driving thier favorite vehicles because gas prices are at 5 bucks a gallon.. Where do we the people draw the line?

I can accept between 3.50 to 4.00 bucks a gallon. But I think somethings gotta give. if it goes much higher. This is America dammit. We want to drive our vehicles without worrying if we are stepping too hard on the pedal.. Just my rant and opinion. Chime in if you think the same or, are we gonna be paying more and more..

Honestly, i think it's going to be like the housing market. Investors are driving up the prices in the hopes of making quick money, and then BLAM!, the bottom falls out. At least that's my hopes...... I want to see 2.00 a gallon again.

Lazerred6 07-12-2008 07:36 AM

Honestly the automotive industry can't do anything to affect gas prices because they have no say in the oil companies in the middle east. As long as we depend on oil from outside our borders we will be F'ed.. What we need to do is drill in Anwar and we will be fine but the fing tree huggers won't let us because they think the plant will disrupt the whole area because Al Gore has them sucking his dick.

I don't think gas oruces are going to drop much. We will just eventually get used to the price and accept it....I hope I'm wrong.

Foreign countires basically say how much we will drill over there, and thats it. They don't create the price of oil. Oil companies do. They drill the oil, buy if from themselves, and sell it.

Well first off i say we pull out of the middle east, if we are paying 5 bucks a gallon, wtf are we doing there?

also, this affects the prices of EVERYTHING, not just gas. Hell, last year around this time when we go food shopping we would blow about $240 every 2 weeks for groceries. Now, buying same stuff, it has jumped to about $320.

thats $160 a month more than i used to pay.

I agree. We should stop spending our billions to thier cause if we can't get something in return. This is BS, because Iraq should be giving us free oil for what we are doing for them as a whole. I just hope our next prez will get tough and say, it's time for a little bit of payback, and throw us a bone with some meat still attached.

It's getting tough to pay for gas and groceries when our cost of living isn't going up to match it. Geez, you would have to make minimum wage at around 10 bucks an hour to even keep up with rising cost of living. We all need gas and food, But we also need our comfort creatures too.

Why are we as americans letting this happen. We should be laying down some new rules that they should be abiding by. Or Else Gadamm it.. Sorry I got started on this. But I just wish we had JFK back in office. He would get us gas for 2 bucks a gallon.. and then send some else to look for stuff on the moon. :flamed:

our say doesent mean shit, that is why.

The government is a tool that is supposed to keep things running smoothly for the citizens and govern the citizens, the citizens are supposed to be in charge by being able to elect thier leaders, however, we dont elect our leaders. Instead the Dems and Reps hand pick the 2 sacks of shit and the electoral votes determine canidate A is the winner even though more ameircans voted for canidate B..............

What the hell is the point?

its like taking a girl out to dinner, having a great time and hitting it off, bringing her home, putting on a rubber only to find out somone else gets to have sex with her.

We need a new leader, somebody not hand selected by the Ass and the Elephant, We need somebody inspiring and honest, and somone who governs his actions by reason and reason alone, not money, not faith, not hate. I know every time there is a decision somone is happier than somone else, but im just tired of the happy ones always being the oil producers and bankers.

things in this country are just so... convoluted and polluted by various levels of corruption, nothing is clear, nothing is simple... the entire culture of dems vs repubs, it seems like all they want to do is blame the other party for everything bad and try to take credit for anything good, here is a novel idea.... How about working together for the common good? There is just such a set way in the thought process of this country that people just blindly accept the 2 nominees and will immediatly reject any indepedant runners. So every 4 years we have the same decision, do we go with the giant crap sandwich, or giant douche?

i love this county, and i have faith in this country, but i dont particularly care for the goverment, i dont trust the government, and i dont have any faith in the gov''s ability to do the correct thing. The government is not the country, the people are the country, the government is a tool, and when a tool gets to be more trouble than it is worth you normally replace the tool.

EDIT: Here is how little i trust the government. I just deleted about 3 paragraphs because i am nervous that they would get me put on a no-fly list.

lol....

yeah, they will just label you as a terrorist and make you disappear.

remember, the government considers anyone who does not agree with the government a terrorist.

SnTBakosFinest 07-13-2008 02:08 PM

Oh ya. Well...so much for the right to overthrow a corrupt government :(

that is a "right" that the citizens of a country control, not the government. I mean, if there was gonna be a revolution and a overthrow of the government by american citizens, the government cant exactly say "No, go back home", because at the point the citizens dont have a lot of concern about what the government is saying.

:t::D

SnTBakosFinest 07-13-2008 02:29 PM

well then...revolt? =)

Things will change eventually. Things have gone down the shitter because we are in the 8th year of a president that has done nothing good for this country.

and Jack,

its like taking a girl out to dinner, having a great time and hitting it off, bringing her home, putting on a rubber only to find out somone else gets to have sex with her.
That is hilarious.

lol... well, thankfully i think we are in the time where that kind of reform can come without breaking out the pitchforks and torches and beheading everyone in sight. its just gonna take a lot of effort to redirect this train.
