I guess this is good news for those 96-01 cars with cracking intakes!

so this means i can take the reciept for the intake i had replaced on my 96 cougar and get a check from the dealership? or is it more complicated than that?

Its about time why should we get stuck with a bill for a bad design. Mine has been leaking for 8 months.

So how does this work. What do I do when mine cracks? Do I have to pay for it up front, and then take them the reciept? Or do they just realize, hey, we owe him a new intake, and then pay for it themselves at the dealership.

I knew I kept the receipt for 2 yrs for a reason!!!!

now I need to get the dealer to make good on it.

I replaced mine last year but I don't have the receipt anymore. I did not get it done at a Ford Dealership but do I understand this correct after reading that site? I can take my car to the Ford dealership here and all they have to do is verify a repair has been made? Because obviously my 99 Mustang didn't come with the plastic intake with the aluminum crossover.

if your intake does crack..just take it to the dealership..and they should install the new one for you....for free...as your intake is under warranty again..

if they refuse..just bring a copy of the provided statement ... :evil5:

Just ran up to the Ford dealership here. I have infact replaced my intake on my 99 Mustang GT which fits within the recall years and obviously the same recall for motor size. They told me there was no recall on my car. I showed him the paper and he said they can't go by the internet but go by what their computers tell them? Any ideas on this? Think its just not in the system yet or what?

ANOTHER UPDATE. I just got off the phone with FORD CO. and spoke with a moman about this. She said they are aware of it but it most likely will not be finalized until the Fall sometime. She assured me everyone this applies to will get a notice in the mail about what to do. I made sure to update my address information so I can get my $735 when the time comes. I suggest you guys make sure your address info is updated in Ford's system. I guess the word about the recall just leaked out a little early on the net. But looks like we will be taken care of soon. Hope this helps.
