debating what to do once i turn 18(stang wise).

ok so im kinda tired of the slow 6'er. my dad basically gave me 2 choices.

A)- start working performance stuff and when i turn 18 he will borrow 6G on his car to pay for a S/C for it.

B) he will co-sign for a GT or Mach 1 03-04 year for either one, have the 6'er paid off and keep it as a DD. and have to make payments.

i know its awhile down the road but im debating now. cause if i chose A i can start working on it. if i choose B i can spend the money on other stuff.

I say choice C buy a mach 1 or cobra. Switch the parts over from the sixer and then trade the sixer in.

JackThe Ripper 04-02-2008 08:47 PM

The mach 1 will have more torque and HP starting than yer 6'er will have.

I saw absolutly hands down, go for the 03/04 mach1. lol...

Stuck in the same boat dude. Can't decide on what the hell i wanna do. All i know is that i need more, if not a power adder for the 6 than a v8!!!! But college is coming and i need to focus on school before anyhting else. Luckily my tuition is already payed for.

gas prices are also a B*tch, but i suppose they will be anyway for what ever your drive.

Mach1 for sure. Gas is not going to matter unless you quit driving. I get better gas milage in my GT then I did in my v6 anyway. You will be a happier person with a v8.

mach 1.

wow I feel old.

JackThe Ripper 04-02-2008 09:08 PM

well, hell man.

im selling my 04 GT, in fact, new bumper should be on by saturday, i already have a hit on craigslist. i might sell this care real soon.

but next mustang im going for balls out power. Im gonna take a loaner out on my 401k for 8 grand (i have no faith in 401k, might as well get something out of that pipe dream)

looking for a 1988-1992 Mustang 5.0, those years had forged bottom ends.
those can be had for about 2500-4000.

then pick up the anderson ford motorsports Quick Kit 1 (CAI, headers, xpipe, basanni exhaust, Intake spacer, Throttle body, and other goodies) for 1,400. That will have me sitting at 230 at the wheels, about where i am at with my GT.

And while im at it, ill also pick up the anderson ford motorsports Quick Kit 2, which is a balls out top end make over with heads, upper and lower intake, cam, and other goodies that combined with a quick kit 1 and a stock 5.0 block will put about 330hp at the wheels.

a 330whp mustang 5.0, man, that is probably getting pretty close to cobra terminator territory.

the next step would be 8-11lbs of boost which will have me in the Cobra smashing 450whp zone.

and the best part, is it aint gonna cost me 600 bucks a month to have that power. hell, less than 10 grand can get the quick kits 1 & 2, a mustang 5.0, and a supercharger with 8-11lbs boost.

THAT is gonna be the shit. Im gonna miss my mustang dearly, im gonna hate the year i go without it, but by this time next year i will be making these purchases.

Those old foxbodys are easy to work on, thier engines are good for 300k miles easily, and cheap to mess with.

dont limit yourself in options too much.

4k will have me all of this...

sounds like a plan. right now idk what to do. have other stuff on my mind. before i got my mustang, this guy(a family friend) had a 5.0 that he woulda sold me for 2500(he would of let me pay on it too a few hundred here and there). but idk.

Dave04Mustang 04-02-2008 09:31 PM

well if you were to get a new car I would get rid of your sixer and use the money you get back from that to go toward payments. No need for 2 stangs when your young plus your going to hate driving the v6 once your use to the 8 haha. As for the co-signing since its your Dad I'm sure it will be fine, in the future be careful because co-sign's turn into legal problems veryyy quickly.
