ZR1

ZR1 serial number 001 just sold for $1,000,000 on barret jackson. But then again anything about the MRSP counts as a tax write off.

yeah i saw that car looked amazing.

Which car does he get?

I watched that too. Gay Leno drove it up and babbled about how special it was. You could tell the writers strike has taken it's toll from his shoot from the hip lines...
But my question is, which car does the high bidder get? They talked about the winner coming out to Kentucy to watch his car get assembled and painted and such. Didn't he get the car on the stage? I was a bit confused...And then I saw the shoot of Mrs. Hurst (poster girl for Hurst shifters back in the day) boy has she hit the wall....

I saw the "first" 2008 Challenger sold on Barrett Jackson...the car on the block was a concept car, and they said he would get the first production Challenger by May 31 2008. So I bet the ZR1 guy was really bidding on the first production ZR1, not the one rolled across the blocks.

correct what was on the block was just the concept car. The winner will be getting the production car in Le mans blue and no other car will be made in le mans blue.

Funny, because that may actually not be true at least not as simply as you think. Interesting tax question, though. I know the proceeds went to a donation, but in order to qualify for the write-off, you can't have received any goods or services in exchange. The buyer, clearly received a car where the value was established at the auction as being $1M.

Perhaps because they dont receive THIS car, but a normal production model, then that is the way around it.

Sure would be nice to have that type of coin.
