stored the strtracr plate
 

so i stored my streetracer license plate...now what? the car is in a garage and covered up for the winter...anyone know what i tell ford...or do i have to tell them? cause i dropped coverage on the stang while its stored...just wondering the procedure....

Why would you have to tell Ford anything? As long as you aren't driving it, insurance isn't a problem. Just tuck it away and enjoy driving the corolla for the winter and saving money on insurance.

Alot of insureance companies offer just the coverage your looking for. I know a friend whos got "seasonal" coverage on his '65 stang. I know his is old and not financed anymore but as long as you dont all together drop coverage then the insureance company will never report the loss of coverage.
Dont know about you paticualar insurance co. but its worth taking a look at!

um if you're making payments on it, then you have to insure the car at all times whether you're driving it or not. it's in the contract you signed when you signed the finance papers.

they can come repossess your car based on that fact, but what they usually do is, just add the premium into your payment until you get insurance again (and there premium's are expensive as hell!).

you might ask your insurance agent if they can provide you with some sort of insurance that will cover the car in the event the car is damaged while in the storage unit (or even stolen from it).

Yah Mixedbreed is 100% correct. If you are still financing it then you most likely have a claus in the agreement stating you will have full coverage insurance or they can come and take it away and penalize you further.


talk to your insurance agent. If yer not driving it you might be able to get a discount.

i need to do the same. my stang is safely tucked in for the winter. she might see 30 miles in the next 3 months.
