probably selling the mustang

well, i have been contemplating this for the last couple of weeks. my beater is dying on me and the mustang is just sitting at home while i am up at school. ive been looking around for some 4wd sedans (sti). i love the mustang and all but its getting old of just going straight and where i am living now there are a lot of nice twisty roads and winter where i am at is pretty bad. i have also been the designated driver for alot of the events (driving to penn state main) and the mustang wont cut it once the sable dies. i also hate having to pay 2 insurances and 2 gas bills (i do go home on some weekends and drive the stang but not much).

if i do get the sti i not gonna do much to it if at all.

Sucks that you have to get rid of the stang...or you might.

But STIs are damn nice cars. And the MPG would be great.

If I could, I'd get myself a EVO. I like the 4dr thing right now kinda..

mpt_1962 09-24-2007 01:13 AM

well i hope you keep the car...and dont end up on the memorial

stanger00 09-24-2007 02:13 AM

sucks that you cant afford both. hey your in college and the STI from 04-07 are just insane. i hope you find a good deal on one all the ones i looked at 04-05 were still going for low-mid 20's. if you cant find a STI on the cheap then go for the 06 wrx it has the 2.5l motor. i wish i had more time when i was looking around for cars because i would of picked up a 06 wrx instead of my 05. im working on getting springs sway bars and adjustable shocks/struts real cheap. so i will handle better. i found a way to get stage 2 power for less than a grand with tune.

oh sti's will probably get the same MPG as your stang. BOOST is fun especially on the corners.

Gotta do what you gotta do.

I can understand that, but your young and you can always get another later on down the road.

I am so glad to be back in a mustang, after losing mine during my divorce. My G/F is driving the car last night and says you ready for a truck? I gave her some cutting eyes, and she was like what? I said thats blastfamy words there...!

yeah it would. good luck with the sell if you do get rid of the stang. like others said, you are young, you can always get one a little later in life.

ah possibly another forum member added to the mustang memorial. I don't think you'd be disappointed with an STI....now in my case I went from a Mach with 304rwhp and 330rwtq to a pontiac G6 with maybe a 180rwhp. I miss my stang especially when I see other machs. My point is that performance wise you're getting a better car so iI think you'll get over the stang pretty fast.

ha ha ha....you won't do much to it. You've been bitten by the mod bug so that won't last long. Good luck man and when it's all said and done it's just a car and I'm pretty sure mustangs will be around for years to come so you can always get another one if you want

v6'stang 09-25-2007 02:41 PM

:sigh: the theme to the song "anotherone bites the dust" comes to mind...

Mossberg 09-25-2007 08:13 PM

STIs and EVO = ugly but fast as hell in the twisties.

I could never see the intrigue with those econoboxes. I've driven several of them BTW.

I hear ya I'm thinking about selling mine also, since now I basically have 2 summer toys a Mustang and I just bought a bike so.. been thinking about it.. becuase during the winter ill have the bike and the stang in storage so thinking about trading it in for a jeep or something..

ShapeShifter 09-26-2007 12:32 AM

what an excuse to go ricer..pffffttt....jk man, lol...as others said, you gotta do what you gotta do.

HokieStang00 09-26-2007 09:07 AM

Living in Michigan, I know exactly how you feel. I don't have the heart to go ricer though. Ever think about switching gears and going the truck route like Lance? If not, there's always looking forward to that Shelby after school is over :)

PureStang 09-28-2007 02:42 PM

not selling. my uncle drove it for me so i can experience the force of 4.10s with out having to worry about driving.... buying a supercharger, putting it away for the winter and driving the beater with the newly added body mod....

a big ol' dent from a deer hitting it......

HokieStang00 09-29-2007 08:35 AM

Woh. You went from selling it to supercharging it? That's quite a change. Win the lotto?

haha, nah, i didnt need to sell it at all. i wasnt trying to sell the mustang to get finances back, just to get something else. i just love the lines of the mustang too much that im going to keep it. lol

Badfish 09-29-2007 10:16 AM
