calling all techies...
so heres my situation. i bought a digitial camcorder 2 years ago. and was transfering all the videos from it to my computer via Fire Wire. but now i have a laptop and of course it doesnt have firwire and if i used the USB 2.0 connection it would be to slow to transfer the data to my computer. any suggestions besides getting a new computer or new camcorder?

you can get a PCMIA Firewire Card for the laptop, if you have a slot open.

usb 2.0 is faster than firewire 1394a the most common, unless your camcorder has 1394b firewire (you said its only a couple years old so i'm not sure) you can just use the usb 2.0 port. if your usb port makes it that much slower than your usb probably isn't 2.0.
Yup. |
dittos mang... usb2.0 is hella fast. If it's not fast for you, then you have usb 1.1 and should just "suck it up".
