Piratebay.org is also a good site. You have to be careful though theres a lot of government monitoring on torrent transfers supposedly and I have heard of more than one ISP shutting it's customers down for using torrents. I think there was a thread about that a long time ago.

I use it... good for finding little things and big things. Fast fast fast if you find files with lots of seeds.

I got it last night, and i started to download stuff, like a song and a movie and my computer is running really slow. like for the song crazy bitch, it took something like 30 min.. any reconmidations (sp)??

torrents aren't a real-time download. They're a lot more like the old-school napster where you're hoping people will turn on their computers overnight and you allow lots of time for the download to happen.

One way to help is to turn your seeding threshold down to 50%, limit uploads to 1 and find files with 15 or more seeds (the more the better). 30 minutes for a file isn't bad. Remember.. you're only getting pieces of the file from any one share-er so you're actually gathering the pieces from several... all those connections can be time expensive but they're nice background tasks to let it do while you're crashed out sleeping.

Don't treat it like like the i-tunes store... downloads there are 1:1... torrent are *:*.

ok, thanks.
yeah i actually like that for torrents you go through and get lots of little pieces of one things from lots of ppl.. i think its a cool idea.. knowing i'm not getting this all from one person. I feel safer that way.. it seems to me that it would be harder to get a corrupt file..

My friend does all the torrent stuff. Then I just have him make me copies. I have some many "borrowed" programs that I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.:kekekegay:

I just have one more question yall might be able to help or not. One of my friends has like 2 other Fake cd rom drives. so when he downloads something that needs a disk from the torrent he sends it to the fake drive and the computer thinks that its reading a disk. do yall know how to do this??

My computer runs so much better after I got rid of limewire. I didn't even bother installing it on my new laptop. Limewire is good for a time until your realize all the viruses and other crap you get.

limewire used to work great back in the day, I haven't used it in months though because it always had fake songs or songs with DRM in them. I think the RIAA infiltrated limewire. I just use torrents now
