How many posts am i at?

lol @ teh thread

Streetracer -
The reason nobody says much when i get in a race is like a lot of people on this board i never go out with the intention of finding a race, however every few months or so something interests me and i go for it. If yer gonna post about a race and done want eveyone flaming you, just leave out the part where yer looking for a race and this might be kept at a minimum.

Everyone else
It really is suprising how much people constantly come down on Streetracer. He is going to do what he does untill either he loses his licence, kills somone, kills himself, or a friend gets killed. Plain and Simple. The constant bickering and crap-giving aint gonna make him stop. Everyone has already said what they have to say, so at this point it is pointless to sit here and slam on him constantly cause all it does is turn threads into flame threads. When he kills somone, feel free to tell him you told him so. But yer not gonna make him stop.

Street racer comes on here and posts about his car and racing and this that and the other. All his threads turn into these big slam fests and usually i see him getting assaulted and NOT throwing the first punch.

Of all the people to jump on him i bet less than 2% actually have room to talk.
Sure, we sit here and say we hardly ever do it, we say we NORMALLY race on the track, we say that it is bad to street race then a few days later we throw up a kill story with the little disclaimer "Normally i dont street race but..." and we seem to think that actually amounts to squat of a difference and somehow that makes it any better than the kids that go out looking to race.

Streetracer can go out and race 10 times in a night for 5 years and may never get caught, and never hurt anyone, and eventually sell his car and move to 4wheeling interests.

Or Lance, Venom, Myself, Mattj, ZigZag, jeredan, dave, paul dick, and larry or who the hell ever can get in that "Once a month" street race and end up losing control or having an unforseen obstacle like a minivan with a soccermom and 6 children and plow into it splattering thier ****ing brains all over the street.

lol....

so, noww that everyone has said how thier street racing is ok, and streetracers racing is not, can we get over the slam fest and all just stop being a bunch of hypocrites?

zigzaggthefag321 07-23-2007 08:11 PM

makes some sense.

yeah I was just pointing out the contradiction in his story and how it made the entire thing look like a made up story.

Hello, just thought I'd post in this thread. I personally got a good laugh out of Tommy's thread, and don't see how it got so heated so quickly, well really I do.. but that doesnt matter. People need to learn not to take things so seriously, enjoy the little things, even if you don't honestly believe it. (wow. I sound like I'm high, I'm not though. drugs are bad.)

heres a few birdseye views of the main spot...all the police know about it so i'm not revealing anything...besides ... we racing types share the place with hookers, drug dealers and pimps so the cops have more to worry about than us out there at night...believe me...loads of fun...quick races on farragut down by the water...but if you wanna get into a wicked one...take the race around food center...and at night remember noone is out on that road...

WaterDR 07-27-2007 09:16 PM

There are all types of street racing.....going to a deserted airport runway is a lot different then racing on a busy interstate or downtown.....I do get that. In fact, I would not even call racing on a destered runway street racing, because it is not a street.

In general, this site does not want to be a place to promote street racing and people get their panties in a wad because they work hard for their money and have to share in the insurance costs and share the roads with too many meatheads.

As far as being a hippocrit, I call BS. You are ONLY a hippocrit if you are telling someone to NOT do something that you currently do. If you did something in the past, then you are a reformed street racer and that is not being a hippocrit.

StreetRacer 07-27-2007 11:26 PM

are we back to that again?

Babii C 07-28-2007 06:17 PM

Can we start by spelling right?
Hippocrit = hypocrite

that is all, thank you :)

Lol oh yeah thats right, everyone here goes and races on abandoned runways and such.

that entire thing was not aimed at you MT#1, so there is no reason to get all grumpy, it was aimed in general at everyone else who sit and constantly bash on street racing only to put up a post every few months about doing it. But im sure your responce does not speak for everyone else who was bashing streetracer. Or does everyone who was bashing streetracer on the forum board except me have a handy dandy local abanonded runway? lol

I;ve always liked you on here, but i wouldnt say i know you. I have no idea if you ever get into the occasional light to light, if yer ever on yer way back from the gas station and run into another more mature guy sitting in his brand new C6 and decide to give it a little run. Maybe you dont, and if you say you dont, i'll believe you, but i dont believe for one second that everyone else on this board who was bashing streetracer rolls the same way you do.

So, you might not be a hypocrite in this sence, but maybe there is a tiny bit of hypocracy that you might be so eager to put streetracer in his place, but diddnt make a peep about the dangers of streetracing when i put up my thread, or when many others have done the same. Hell, it is probably worse that i did that because now i have a family depending on me.

I dont street race much. I dont want to lose my licence, i dont want to lose control and wreck my car. I get in maybe 2 street racers a year tops. But it only takes ONE time to lose control and cause some serious damage. That is the whole point. So, yeah, honestly i dont see how it is any better and streetracer had a damn good point when i posted my kill on the 07 GT CS nobody admonished me, nobody told me it was wrong.

And dont get me wrong, im not using hypocracy of many people to justify what streetracer is doing, he is trying to be smart about it but he is still a retard for constantly street racing.

and yeah, there is a definatly difference between an abonded runway or highway. There is no traffic to worry about, and you will have far better situational awareness

there is also a difference between that and a real track. ..

The Track is a legal sanctioned place for racing, and it also maintains high Safety Regulations and has medical staff standing by.

So if yer on the old abandonded runway and you pick up a nail in yer tire and it blows while yer doing 100mph and it swerves you into the other car, well, outlook doesent look too good. If that happens, then, well, that big difference between a street and a runway doesent seem like such a big difference anymore, after all, the whole danger of streetracing is the Unforseeable. And just cause Jonny died waiting for an ambulance in the street or on the runway, either way jonny is dead as a doornail. At the track he would have immediatly been rushed to a hospital in an ambulance.

Ill be the first to say the older you get the smarter you are about such things, and the younger people all feel invincible and are less likely to use common sence, but that doesent escuse the older drivers for street racing when they do.

WaterDR 07-28-2007 07:21 PM

All I am saying is that we don't want to promte street racing. I think the dialogue (even if it is arguing) is completely healthy as at least people are talking about it.

Additionally, we are a community and in a community people look out for each other and sometimes we need to be reminded. Think of it as like an AA meeting. If you go to a meeting and you are still struggling to stop drinking, does not make you a hypocrite....we are all supposed to be here to help eachother even if someone has been guilty of something in the past, or in the present.

BTW, I am not grumpy nor am I worried about comments being directed at me. People are going to do what they do no matter what I say anyway....but even if we have an impact, it will help.

As I have stated, we do not promote street racing, nor are we dedicated to stopping it. Think about it, 99% of the posts on this site are not about street racing one way or the other.

In all my years, I don't think I have ever raced on the street...not in the traditional sense. Have I gone fast? Sure. In my 23 years I have driven around 1,000,000 miles. I have been stopped for speading about 4 times, so I am no Saint, but my record is pretty dam clean and I have not had anything serious and they were all in my younger days....I still remember what it was like to be young and I too am lucky to be alive.

I have two friends now who have both lost teenage kids (both girls) to car accidents. Neither were in a stang, nor were they racing, but inexperience definately played a part.

Just be safe and smart.....and we all need to help eachother out.
