electronica.

Does anyone besides me listen to it? Does anyone besides me know what it is?
No, it's not "techno." Techno is a form of electronica (a shitty one at that). Where a bunch of X'd out kids with furry boots and glow sticks run around rubbing each other at raves. We like to call em "raver goo." I listen to these beats called "Breaks" or breakbeat. And they're these very well composed, talented beats using an electronic source. You should give some a try if you haven't heard em before. You'd probably like it. I'll find some good breaks and link em..but I gotta run now

wow, from Mustang to Subaru... now from Sublime to electronica?

are you crying out for help? lol.

+1

Didn't you used to praise reggae as the only music worth listening to?

PColav6 07-02-2007 01:38 PM

you're one of those ricer kids who drive down the road with your hat sideways bumping to your techno huh?

00blkstanggt 07-02-2007 01:44 PM

I don't find to much talent in programming a beat into a computer. Now if you mix it with some live instruments then it can sound cool, but not much skill in programming a beat. It's like artists who don't write their own songs. If you can't write a song, then you don't need to be playing music.

Never heard of it....

ha ha ha ha....He might be. The next time we hear from him he'll tell a story how he went to a electronica club and did some E and drove the scoob off a mountain. ha ha ha....I'm kidding. He's young and all over the map...pretty normal I guess.

there is a style that mixes live music and electronic beats, its called deep house. Back in my college days my roommate was a sick house DJ, he spun on a pair of Technic 1200's (basically the cadillac of turntables). And he was ****in awesome. I hate trance thats the clubby rave bullshit, but house is nice, it has substance. I've been into electronic music for almost a decade, and no not all people who listen to this type of music are ricers, ravers or fags. its just like any other music, there is good stuff and there is shit. And only a handfull of people know the difference.

Where do you think the music comes from that they are mixing. I understand they do mixing with turntables and do some cool stuff, but a lot of the beats and everything are prerecorded drum machine beats and all that from the computer. I know what house music is, I use to work in a music store and hated listening to it. It's cool if ya like it but not my cup of tea.

Badfish 07-02-2007 04:39 PM

I'm not a big fan of house either...breaks and drum&bass are where it's at

If you say so, I have seen 12 y/o kids make beats with mixxing programs.. meh, not a fan of the whole electonica scene. I would elaborate, but I won't.

I actually do know the subject. My friends brother majored in music at UCLA and is now as music producer. He plays guitar, bass, drums (very well at that), but also produces beats and everything. He does it all. I'm just saying there is more talent in actually being able to play a guitar or drums well then programming it into a computer.

wow, so that takes even more skill. Take someone elses recordings and use them on your turntable and do some scratching. Genious! Plus the stuff Badfish was talking about is recorded beats with other stuff mixed in. Not bashing Badfish, just the music.

r3dn3ck 07-03-2007 11:32 AM

electronica = emo-kid show tunes

I find it no less than irritating, droning and unimaginitive.

Wow, you're an idiot.. The music comes from Cd's into a PC then you mix the beats to make 'music.' What? Does the music from the CD's magically merge into some kind of special robot beats?

Either way electronica is pretty shitty stuff.
