lookin to trade up

ive been looking at a couple mach 1's and also one corvette because its time to trade up ive been saving all my money like a good boy and instead of continuing to mod the GT i think i just want a new car. so with that being said how much do you think i could realisticly get for my car :

2002 Mustang GT
Zinc yellow
5-speed
full exhaust
cai
75mm tb and plenum combo
4.10 gears
an sct tuner
and a shortshifter

the thing is in beutiful condition minus one literaly tiny little crack in the front bumber cause some ass back into my car

so what do you guys think?

MattJ 05-30-2007 06:47 AM

If you trade it in, below bluebook. If you sell it privately... blue book.
Your mods mean nothing to prospective buyers. you are better off taking most of that stuff off and selling it.

StreetRacer 05-30-2007 06:58 AM

yeh...mods take away from value mostly...unless you sell it to a rich highschool kid...can you put up a pic of that crack in the bumper?

G PURE 260 STANG T 05-30-2007 07:03 AM

well i am trying to sell it to a rich highschool kid lol

and i will post a pic of the bumber and the car today if i dont go to the track if i do then tomorrow

and i wont be trading it in to a dealer i will only privatly sell it i think its wrong what they give for used cars if you trade them in i would never do that

For a GT possibly. I've had a few people interested in my snake who really want it because of the work that has been done to it.

Now if you trade it into a dealership, then yes, they will rape you even if you have a lot of modifications put into it.

StreetRacer 05-30-2007 07:30 AM

never ever sell to a dealer....they'll give you 4000 today and you'll see your car on their lot for 15000 tomorrow....you WILL think about murder

G PURE 260 STANG T 05-30-2007 07:55 AM

excatly thats why i would never do that im very against it. this doesnt have to do with cars but my family is into powerboating and we just recently got a ne boat but traded in the old one. the old one was worth about 90,000 and the dealer gave us 60 and we saw it listed from on the net from the dealer for 100 its just nuts

keep the gt man. you already put alot of money into it. if you want something fast, buy a bike. i may be buying a bike in the next couple months after i get the fines and stuff taken car of. lol. specifically cbr600f4i's. cheap, and really good on gas and extremely fun.

if you have a death wish!

do it...sell your stang and trade up to one you want...i just did the same thing. but trust me selling a car is not easy. i would return it to stock and sell your parts to get more money...

only a death wish if you f*ck around and not pay attention to what you are doing and what your surroundings are. yes, there are risks, but if you have your head screwed on right, then you wont have too many problems. :breakdancesmilie: :breakdancesmilie: lol

It all depends on a few things.

How much you advertise your car, where you advertise it, and who you target.

I started with and ad on MySpace. Targeting the younger people. Moved up to Craigslist, still has a majority of young kids. Had the car listed for a grand total of 3 weeks, sold for $5,000.

'98 V6 5Spd w/ 146,000mi.

I see people with New Edge GT's that have had them listed for months and had no hits, because all they do is slap a sign in the window and say 'hey, it's for sale'. If you market the car right, and target your 'customer' correctly I would see no reason why you couldn't get atleast $17-19k (avg. retail in my area).

i had mine on cars.com for a month...got a few hits off that...then put it on autotrader and within 2 weeks i had a buyer! i also got a few hits from taking it up to the local walmart parking lot with a sign on it.

after a month and a half i sold my 04 V6 with 27k miles for $12,000 and i bought it 2 years ago for $12,800 with 13k

You can be the most attentive motorcycle rider in the world and still end up as a splat on some guys back window because he didn't see you.
