any ideas

i read in one of the other threads that the '03 cobra comes w/39lb injectors. i've added steeda cold air intake, accufab throttle body/plenum, 2.81 pulley, steeda boost dump bypass, etc... now i notice the service engine light is on. it came on about a week after the slp x pipe and loudmouth II. i asked ford to run a diagnostic to let me know what was up. the mechanic told me that she is running lean. oh yeah, i have the basic MT diablo chip from about a year ago.

any ideas from the group?? i was thinking about replacing the diablo chip w/ the predator tuner and upgrading my injectors. i've never dyno'd her but i'm guessing she's above 475hp?

if it does have 39 lbers then thats why cause stock they have 60pounders. or is it 55# either way its not 39#.

39# injectors are correct stock Cobra units. With you mods, you may indeed be running lean. Discuss upgrade with your dyno operator, who should be able to recommend correct size for your application. Suspect you need 55's.

Not familiar with the MT chip, but my Diablo Predator tuner is a good unit (wish I could use it on my other cars, but....) that can handle most tunes. If I were buying new, I'd examine the SCT X-Calibrator.

luck,

Just had another thought. You may be outrunning your mass air sensor. You may need a larger unit - have not yet done this mod to my car, so perhaps someone can chime in here.

sounds good

i don't believe the steeda cold air kit came w/ new mass air . i'll try that and ask the guys in california this weekend while i'm down there at their shop. by the way i go to xmp performance. they do a nice job and fair price. no i'm not related to or getting paid by anyone to say that!!

Tuning

I would recommend getting a good dyno tune and forget the chip. The chips fuel maps probably arent a perfect match for the modifications that you have done. Your probably in the neighborhood of 475hp or better at the wheels considering what I saw on horsepower TV. They took a 03 Cobra and put a generic hypertech program on it, went up 2 pulley sizes(I think to 14psi of boost) and I think one other simple thing under the hood and I wanna say 430ish at the wheels with those mods alone.

how much does a dyno tune normally run? most of the simple stuff i've done myself, but leave the major to someone else

p.s. to the last one ... i'm running 14lbs of boost w/ no dump
