someone almost broke into my house...
alright...my parents were out of town...so i was totaly alone..
at 3:00 am...i woke up to loud banging noise...i knew something was wrong..my dog (7lbs silky terrier) was going crazy barking at the back door... i kept hearing the banging...(someone tring to kick it down) i grabed the only "weapon" i could think of...an old vintage .22 rifle...too old to shoot and stuff..just for hitting with.....well went around the corner...saw the guy at the door..still out side..i charged the door and turned on the porch light... rest of the story is basically called my neighbor (commander of the security forces).....BTW...I LIVE ON FREAKIN BASE!!...he came over and looked around for me..helped settle me down... it was the scaryist thing ive ever experienced... since im only 16 (well on wednesday..) i have nver thought about security and stuff...since i have my dad... this really makes me want to get a conceled wepon permit or something... good news is..bout 10 mins earlier another person reported him breaking into their car...the bastard droped his wallet!!! |
now he'll get to do some stockade time.. that'll teach him.

i dont understand how people can be so stupid.

Well this is why i have a dog and a Glock. Dog lets me know something is up and the Glock takes care of it.

All of our weapons are downstairs in the basement and you have to go by the back door to get there. But i do have a pellet gun under my bed i could use.
|
last time i was shot by a pellet gun it just pissed me off... id swap that out with something that packs a lil more punch
|
Maybe they thought some girl lived there with the Mini parked outside :poke:
:tongueout: |

A gun you can't use is a picture. An unloaded gun is a rock. If you think you have a need to secure your property or person with a gun, man up and keep it loaded and close at hand.
|
the gun is too old to shoot...and i dont think my parents would want me to have a loaded gun in my room...

lol Point to MattJ.
You'd think that on base whoever was on guard that night would hear a big bang or something.. And LMAO at the dumbass having his wallet on him. AND I dunno..I've had a loaded gun in my room since I was 14.. little .45 stays loaded and when its not being carried it stays in the drawer (sp) right under my bed. And I have 3 shells for my shotgun underneath my rack in a small box. .. |
can i get my wallet back?
|
Why dont you get an alarm installed in your house? Why give the crook anytime inside your home. When he tries to break in the alarm with sound inside the home and monitoring center will call you right away. I could not see myself living without one. Having a weapon is great but you still are not going to scare anyone unless you have a sign "beware of owner" with a handgun on it lol. It doesnt have to come to a show down at noon just get an alarm system.

its a Fin base house!!!!
they wont let you do anything to improve them!!!! obviously 18 years of service isnt enough to get my dad something under 50 years old!!!!! and yes we had to live on base....because of his job... |

I highly disagree with all of you who say to keep a loaded firearm in your home..that is a highly unresponsible thing to do as far as safety and firearm responsibility is concerned.. I know it would be a good idea to keep a loaded magazine somewhere close to the weapon, say if you have the weapon in a drawer in your dresser or something, keep the magazine in another drawer next to it..it takes you about 4 seconds to pull those open and load the gun...hell even an UNLOADED gun would work, most people who break into houses don't have weapons and are just there to steal shit, if you pull any kind of firearm short of an old muzzle loader he would probably shit himself and high tail it out of there, unlike the movies, when people see a gun drawn on them they do not walk up to the person and ask them to pull the trigger and then swipe it from the other person and make a sarcastic remark about taking the safety off...do anything, but keeping a LOADED firearm in your house is not a good idea... especially if you have kids
Your house should not so be so unsafe that you need to keep a loaded Glock 20 within 5 feet of you at all times, if it is - you need to talk to your realtor. |

I can keep a full clip in my glock without it being actually loaded.
|
i keep a full 8 rd clip (yeah 8 is full ) in my 1911 in my room. all it will take is a pull back of the slide and a pull of the trigger to take someone down
