Star Wars
any geeks going to see this movie?......I look foward to seeing the lines of people waiting to see it and all there dumb costumes at the theatre WED night.....*sigh*
(imma theatre Manager) |
Of course..
I already have my tickets.. There is a group of us going from work, surprise I work in the IT field :-) |
Will wait for it to come out in DVD. Not much of a Star Wars fan.
|
Star Wars? Whats that?
I think ive only seen the very first one... |
If you want a good movie to see, go see Unleashed. I got advanced passes through my boss and lemme tell you, that movie kicked some SERIOUS ass.
|
Got my tickets, thursday morning 10:15 AM
Total time standing in line: 0h0m0s. I saw the other two on opening day, never had to stand in line for tickets. I just had to show up two hours early for decent seats. Oh and I know how you feel, theatre manager. I worked as a "concessions associate" for Marcus theaters. I was pushing popcorn when Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars Episode II, and my favorite: 8-Mile came out. (Its my favorite because it was fun to laugh at the gangbangers saying "Yeah dawg, hook me up wit sum popcorn and a big 'ol sprite. I wanted to pull something out of super troopers and ask my manager if we sell bigolsprite. :icon_thum) |
The way I see it if I go with my wife, I will be spending $30 including snacks. I rather just apply that to buying the 6 dvd set that you know is going to come out.

Find a Matinee
High noon is best time, particularly on week day during school hours.
No lines, no cell phones, no problem. If you have to see it in a crowded theatre, resort to guerilla warfare formula, ie, buy 2 large slurpees and drink one and deposit other on seat in front of you (early arrival helps with strategy, with no one the wiser). Mean as hell, I know, but desperate times call for desperate measures. tripleblack |

I'm not rly a fan, but I've watched all 5, what's one more?
|
Its about Eight Fitty.

The worse thing you can have is a home theater system in your home and Im not talking about those all in one units, as you will see how bad the movie theater sounds. I cant go back to watching movies at the theaters.
|
If i see it, i'll wait for a couple of weeks to pass so i don't see it in a full theatre. I hate over crowded theatres.

So far ive put about 8,000 into my rig, newest addition is a 42in panasonic plasma TV i bought last weekend when my girlie left me. (come on, what else was i supposed to do?) My rig will trash any commercial movie theater in colorado. Dual Velodyne subs, Jmlab speakers, Denon 2900, Denon 3805, Denon POA 2800, AQ cabling, hell.... i have yet to hear a movie theater that can put out a comparable visceral experience. <grin> Anyways, i wish DVD's came out with the theatrical release. . And im not a big fan of all the "theater noise" yah, i used to be an Audio junkie, then i found cars and my interest has swayed. Thank god too, auto stuff is way cheaper than high end audio gear. <ROFL> |

Compare a commercial theater to a well thought out and assembled home theater system, and the commercial system cannot hold a candle to the home system. Ive ben to most of the theaters here in denver, and even the better ones stiill cannot compete home theater systems that cost a mere $6k-$8k range. And i'm not talking that crappy bose stuff. that junk is garbage. |
Slappy and Venom are right... the Real high end home theater systems put the movie theaters to shame...
I going to see it on Wednesday due to a co-worker won tickets on a local radio station... May the Force be with you.... |
I have to agree about watching movies at home, but there is something to be said about going to the theatre. Some movies in, my book, require it. Being the computer geek, Star Wars is one of them.. hehe
