Cheaters in NASCAR

I've just been watching ESPN and NASCAR really has been cracking down lately. Come on look at Waltrip's pit crew chief suspend indefinitely and find $100,000 thats a lot of money for a few mods to the car.It just seems all of the sudden too?

Well, every Evernham team (Kahne, Riggs, and Sadler) was Fined, and docked points along with Matt Kenseth from Roush as well.

The total Loss for those four teams alone was: $150,000 and 150 points collectively.

I don't understand why these guys are cheating, especially Waltrip.. I mean hell, it's only qualifying. :shakeno:

Everyone in NASCAR cheats, the good ones just dont get caught.

The ones that cheat are the ones that get caught like in any sport everyone is trying to get an advantage.

If your not cheating your not trying! ha ha..... So what exactly did he do to the car that he got fined so much?

He had some kind of illegal fuel additive in the manifold..

What I find funny is waltrip is throwing his crew cheif under the bus when probably everyone who has worked on the car since it has been down there knew about it.

Hiding it in the exhaust manifold is pretty sneaky. They can check the fuel easily but no one ever would have suspected anything in the manifold. It's amazing I wont be surprised if they find anything else

04DarkShadowGT 02-15-2007 01:08 PM

They said on ESPN radio that it was jet fuel pending further tests.

All of the Evernham teams had a hole in the trunk to relieve the air flow throughout the car and make the rear end sit lower while in the draft. Kenseth's crew chief was attempting to achieve the same thing, but instead of a gaping 2 1/2" hole in the trunk pan (like evernham,) he drilled out 2 dozen or so rivets in the rear of the car (pretty sneaky).

If not for NASCAR finding Evernham's cars, they prob would have never found Kenseth's... :kekekegay:

As for waltrip, he's a moron.. I bet 'Yota is not too pleased with him, that's not a very good entrance into a sport like NASCAR. You watch, as soon as a Toyota wins you will hear the word "cheating" all over the place.

Isnt that the truth. This Toyota thing has been hyped up like crazy and now this. Looks like they were desperate to win to me. But this was cheap even for a pit crew to do. I wonder if Toyota payed them off to do it. See this is what I mean you can speculate all you want in who told who to do what but in the end everyone suffers.

I think evernhams team also had holes in the front wheel wells but they "covered" them with tape, but it came off during qualifying.

Toyots should stick with the truck series, I garuntee Toyota doesnt win one race this year in the nextel series.

How about Jeffy gettin sent to the back of the pack? I still think he'll finish in the top half. Its amazing how the back of the car is only one inch lower you can gain .7 sec. and 2mph. I think he got wat he should have got. Its not like it was anything that had to do a lot with cheating, just a honest human error.

Yea I was going to flip out if they took points away or something because it was just installed wrong and broke.

The first thing I thought about when they said rear shocks was jimmies car last year when they had their shocks which were not really illegal but made illegal after. I thought hendrick made another shock adjustment to try to get around the rules
