PayPal question
 

I recently purchased a brand new CDC honeycomb rear panel for my car and the guy I purchased it from had it on ebay, but the reserve wasn't met so I e-mailed him and he agreed to sell it to me. Anyway, I sent him the payment on Feb 5, and haven't had ANY contact with him since I sent the payment. He was very responsive when dealing with the details of the payment, but after I sent and he recieved the payment....nothing!

I understand people get busy and have things going on in their life so my question is how much time do I give him to at least respond before I dispute the sale? I have sent two e-mails asking him to please let me know a general time frame for when he might send the item out.

Any thoughts? By the way his ebay rating is 99.3% or something like that.

mabye he shipped it out. id give it till friday and file a complaint if you dont recieve it or hear anything.

it takes a while for a e-check to clear. i sent a e-check for my zune on the 5th and it didnt clear until friday. so, im not gonna bug the guy until monday, once monday comes and i see no tracking number ima send a nasty gram. my zune will be coming from dublin, ha small world.

when you send a payment and when some requests a payment there is a considrable difference. thats why i got my debit card hooked back up to paypal so i wont have to wait a long azz time for payments to clear.

Ok, it seems like the whole transfer of funds and all of that takes a little time so I'll wait until the end of this week and if nothing then I'll worry about it. I was just a little concerned cause he hasn't responded at all.

I don't like to deal with anyone under 99.8% and that tends to work for me. Good luck though, hopefully the guy just got busy.

My rule is 14 calendar days. I'll let someone burn me for a week but after that I get pissy. Make sure you send email to him at least every-other day so you can't be said to be a jumpy nancy boy over nothing. It takes like 2 weeks for a paypal resolution to finish up anyway so it should be at the point that it's worth it for you to wait to get your money back.

Ok cool. I'll keep sending him e-mails and if I don't hear anything by the end of this week I'll put in a claim. I hope it works out cause I got a damn good deal on it! ha ha

You should always pay with credit card and give the seller two weeks. Send person an email and if by 3rd week you hear nothing call credit card company and tell them that you want to dispute that charge. You will either get your item or a refund.

Good point....I guess the good thing is it actually wasn't an ebay sale. I bid on the item, but forgot about it, and by the time I checked the auction had ended so I e-mailed him after the fact so ebay is kinda out of the picture.....it's now up to PayPal and my bank if I don't hear anything from him.

I think you make a great suggestion though. I should pay through credit card and not my checking account. Thanks you for that.

Trust me its the only way to go why go through the hassle with other payments, paypal wants you to pay with checking since they make less money with Credit cards but you are better protected.
