The Firetruck came to my house today!

Wifey has the Saab at the airport and I have the kids for the weekend. I kept her Suburban so I could fix the brake light and get the oil changed.

I happen to notice that it is loosing fuel....has a leak at the fuel filter.

I get a repalcement filter. I go to check the old one and it is loose as hell at the clip. I change the new and it leaks worse. Start it up and it blows gas all over the place. The old one now leaks just as bad and now I can't drive the SOB.

I call AAA to have it towed....looks like the clip on the fuel hose is shot. Dam AAA would not tow it w/o having the local fire dept OK it. I call the fire depart...tell them it is not am emergancy and they show up with a paramedic and a full-size fire truck with 8 guys dressed on it - LOL

Then, the tow truck shows up and the guy could care less about the leak. Now the truck is gone and I have no wheels....may have to wake the stang up from hibernation.

It's standard procedure to send the paramedic with the rescue (fire truck). For the fact of if you say fuel leak they take the precaution of if it is worse then what you say and take your word that its not that bad they are liable for any injury if there were a fire or explosion and people are hurt and no paramedics on scene with the rescue. Different branches do things differently but this is the main SOP around. Why were they in full gear most likely they had a call before they got to you and they didnt get out of gear.

Anyways that sucks. Just another excuse to drive the Stang
