I have a Viper Alarm w/ remote start. Not sure on the product number, but at the time of purchase they were selling for $500 at Best buy and Circuit City. I paid $210 brand new off ebay.
Paid a shop to install everything, took them 2 days with all the wiring, etc. etc. Never have had any problems with the remote start, I use it the winter mornings. |

I don't know if you have a 5-Speed or not, but I think it is illegal to put a remote start on one. I know it is here in TN.
If it is, CC or BB won't install it. For obvious reasons, if you leave the car in gear and start it up BOOM! Hello car parked in front of yours! :shock2: |

Like I already said, it is for obvious reasons why it is illegal.. Because dumb shits will leave their cars in gear and remote start it right into another car/ their home, or have a wild car driving around a parking lot.. I can just imagine it now... :salook: |

I don't have and alarm but I do have an after market keyless entry with remote starter and I've never had a problem with it. I love it. I start her up in the morning about 10 min before I leave and make sure that I have the vents on high heat before I get out the night before.

lesson to be learned, DONT LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED IN GEAR! but no, i have an auto, so it doesnt really apply. i havent been able to find anywhere (reputable) that still sells the viper. i read some reviews of the Python system and most were good, but the ones that were negative were pretty bad
Just look for a reputable shop that will install it. |
Sorry boys, many many people here in Alaska have auto starts on their manual vehicles. Go ahead and try to start your car with your key without pushing in on the clutch while it is in gear....anything? For manual cars, the car must be out of gear and the ebrake on befor the auto start will work.
I've had an autostart on every car that I have owned for the past 10 years. They are life savers @ -50 degrees (below zero) |

Well, that may be the case in Alaska, but here (as far as I know) atleast in TN is completely illegal. Who knows, maybe it varies from state to state..
