Amost Dead

So there I was today, coming back from lunch on highway 65 - A nice two lane patch of freeway. For reasons I cannot explain, traffic stops. No problem, I have big breaks. Then I check the rear view mirror.

Son of a gun there is an 18 wheeler coming towards me at full speed, brakes locked up and all. My turn was coming up so I quickly went on the side of the road and moved out of it's way. Turns out it stopped in time anyhow, but it made me think twice.

Yeah, I was driving my Girl's Stang the other day... Sitting at a red light and looked up in the rear view just in time to see a truck coming full blast, I had to gun it and run out into the intersection. If I hadn't it would have been the end of her Stang.. :shakeno:

People are nuts.. Really need to learn how to drive....

Watched a guy run right into the back of another car at about 35 mph yesterday. The ass end of his focus was about 4 feet in the air and then came down. Airbags deployed. His car was totalled. People are ridiculous about driving now.

Highway 65? Are you in Springfield? I drive on highway 65 every day.

Sounds familiar too. Going through springfield, 65 just stops.... your at stop and go traffic for 15 minutes, then you start going fast again. NOTHING was stopping ANYTHING. It pisses me so off!!

lol, shit like that happens often enough to me... turns out RI drivers SUCK ASS (they are actually the worst, according to a test)
But stang00's old blue v6 got rearended at like 25mph or something by a fricken PT cruiser.

+1 :boink: I had never heard this one...

8. Turn your front wheels toward the curb when you are parked _____. (Select one)

a. Facing uphill
b. On a level road
c. Facing downhill

a. facing uphill

wnracing 11-28-2006 12:03 PM

That's what I thought....

It's actually C............

PureStang 11-28-2006 03:38 PM

yea...its down hill cause you want your tires to hit the curb....you turn your tires away from the curb when up hill

SlicK 11-28-2006 07:43 PM

Yea. It's so that if your brakes go out your car will roll towards the curb and not out into the road.

I'd imagine there are lots of highways called "65". No, I'm in California.

I'm afraid to drive on the roads. I'm only 38, I can drive like a mad man, but people's driving kills me.

Last July - before I even had plates on my Cobra - I got rear ended. Traffic just came to a stop. The car in front of me stopped, I stopped; The car behind me didn't stop. Do you mean to tell me she couldn't see all of the other cars in front us stopped? I did. Pay attention.

My favorite one was in Phoenix last year. The car in front of me failed to stop for the light, and backed up. As I was pulling in behind them I noticed they never took their car out of reverse so I left a lot of room. Sure enough, light turns green, and suddenly his car is moving backwards. If someone is in the driver's seat and can't figure out what gear their car is in yet the person behind them can figure it out.... Something is wrong.
