Which would you rather have?
Im getting a new car in the spring but am in limbo on what to get. Say both are at like $21,000 and ignore the automatic transmision.

hmm... You're on a Mustang forum... Im gonna say..... The MUSTANG! lol
No seriously, Vette's are :kekekegay: ... lol let the bashing begin! |
I don't know man, but I bet that vette can get up and go with headers and tune......which means it's probably been driven pretty hard. The only thing I don't like is the vette is using Hypertech tuning....pure crap if you ask me.
As for the mustang.....looks like a nice car and doesn't have too many miles on it. What exactly are you looking for cause you have two very different cars? |
vette
|
I can't see the links, But my dad has a 98 and it rides like a caddy and runs like a bat out of hell... If its already modded, then probably run into the ground... My .02

VETTES are nothing but problems... go with the mustang. seriously.. i work for a gm dealership.

vette.

Lol....
Get an 89 5.0 mustang in good shape. Strip everything out, get it painted, new interior, racing seats Drop in a 351w 468hp crate motor and a TKO600 transmission, get a built rear end, with better axles, then for good measure put a vortech 351 supercharger in and be sitting with about 550hp at the wheels and get yerseomf some good fat meats wrapped on the rims. Then you can show z06's what tail lights look like. that can be done for under 20k. :Woot: |

I pretty much have a full ride to college so since im saving my parents at least $30,000 in return I can get a new car. I just want something with power that I can keep and hold on to I guess.
These arent the exact cars im looking at, just something in this range. You might want to also look at 03/04 Cobra's or Mach 1's....insurance isn't going to be pretty on a Cobra, but they are bad azz rides. |

vettes are rather notorious... but do you want to go fast? Or you want something thats fast but is more comfy and you can use the back seat if need be... I'd say go with the stang... but this is a mustang forum... And the vettes an auto... which is poo... find a stick |

Congrats on the full ride to college.....that is pretty sweet man. You can never go wrong with a stang, but since you have enough money to give you some options make sure you find one you really want...

I love it how nobody can give a straight answer around here.....
|
while the vette is indeed a nice well handling strong car... they break like nobody's business and they're always doing it.
Historically the Vette and Camaro have been 2 of the lowest reliability cars you could get and in the v8 sports car market they were the worst for almost 2 full decades... avoid. Stick with the stang. |

when it comes to personal preference, any answer is correct. |
From a guy that has had one........................................
Don't get the Vette!! |
Has anyone personally been in a new Stang, because I haven't. Does is have that cockpit feel when your in the driverseat? That one thing I know Vette's have for sure.
|
First off, I didn't read any of the responses to influence my input:
I would choose the Stang because it's brand new and the other one is 8 years old. A lot of things can go bad in 8 years and it's just wear and tear, and also been put up to environmental abuse. Also if I'm not mistaken, Corvettes have a lot of problems from mechanical to structural. Also, you might be able to find a GT 05+ cheaper and of course less miles plus newer. Cheaper would also leave a little room for some immediate modding. Better all around car IMO is the Stang. |
Buy a Mach FTW !!!!
|
Go with a stang.. its newer.. and alot of times.. you don't want to mess with something thats 10 years old. (That vette is pretty close.)
|
go with the stang
|
as much as im a vette guy im going to say go with the 05 GT, that vette is really old and vettes have lots of problems. Even the new vettes. My co-worker has owned 3 vettes, all of them were always taking visits to the dealer, so buying a 8 year old vette with no warranty is going to be in the pain in the ass not to mention mods are pretty expensive for it. If you want something to last, with warranty, new edge, id deff get the GT, the c5s are already getting played out to me, its kindof like when i see an SN95 stang, just played out.
|
As much I want a Vette im sticking with Ford. As I'm heading into college I guess I could really use a warranty.
This is exactly what I want:http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/deta...dGFuZw--#image |
