Pennsylvania to Ban Aftermarket Exhaust!
Hey guys start contacting these Representatives and ask them politely to vote against this bill!!!
Pennsylvania Reintroduces Bill to Ban the Use of Aftermarket Exhaust Systems Legislation (H.B. 1330) that would effectively prohibit the use of exhaust systems other than a “factory-installed muffler” or a “muffler meeting factory specifications” has been reintroduced in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives by Representative Michael K. Hanna (Phone: 717/772-2283, Fax: 717/787-4137). The bill has been referred to the House Transportation Committee. Contact Rep. Hanna and Members of the Pennsylvania House Transportation Committee (List Below) Immediately to Request Their Opposition to H.B. 1330 H.B. 1330 ignores the fact that aftermarket exhaust systems are designed to make vehicles run more efficiently without increasing emissions. H.B. 1330 fails to recognize that aftermarket exhaust systems offer increased performance and utility. H.B. 1330 would make it nearly impossible for hobbyists to replace factory exhaust systems with more durable, better performing options. H.B. 1330 perpetuates the erroneous assumption that enthusiasts who equip their vehicles with modified exhaust systems are involved in illegal street racing. Call or Fax the members of the House Transportation Committee in Harrisburg (See List Below) today to oppose this legislation. This bill unfairly tramples on the rights of vehicle enthusiasts in Pennsylvania. House Transportation Committee Hon. Richard Allen Geist, Chairman (717) 787-6419 Fax: (717) 772-5142 Hon. so its only the mufflers?
LOL... can you cut off the exhaust? Or gut the muff's insides? |
LOL... that is so lame.
what i think is funny is they are going after this cause of ricers with thier fart cannons because they say they are noise. However, it is perfectly legal to have a harley which just has straight pipes and is 100x louder. |

yeah but you never see harleys flying down the highway at a whopping 83mph and causin pile ups:kekekegay:
You actually think this has ANYTHING to do with Racing? If that were the case the BAN would incorperate more than just exhaust. Why ban exhaust? Exhaust gives you like, whatm 20hp if you do longtubes, offroad pipe and performance muffllers? Thats gonna be what, 1,200-1,500? for 20hp? If it were after street racing they would ban ALL performance modifications. They would ban any and ALL Aftermarket CAI, TB/P, Underpullys, Gears, Nitrous, Superchargers, TurboChargers, etc etc etc, "any and all aftermarket performance enhancements or upgrades to a street driven vehicle" It aint about racing, it is about NOISE. and i tell ya what, as offenceive as a honda fart can is, they should have the right to do that stuff if they want. Any ANY harley out there is louder than my mustang with straights. |
Hell, you can still throw a supercharger on a car with stock exhaust. You would suffer in the gains department, but "exhaust" is the ONLY thing they are going after.
its all about noise. |
well it only outlaws the mufflers
so techniquely you could cut open the OEM muffler and gut it out... and it said nothing about the pipes them selves so they should be freegame... |

I don't know..in Cali your cars exhaust can't be louder then like..95 decibles or something.. but no law on a bike.. street bikes with no baffle in the pipes.. harleys roaring..
My friends parents both ride Harleys and you can hear them from a good 1/2 mile away.. My other buddies dad owns a street bike..we took the baffle out one day and he reved.. for one, it shot fire out, and two, i think I lost quite a bit of hearing after it.. But concentrating on an exhaust on a car is retarded.. whether its for noise or not.. I wonder if they know what sort of damage they'll be doing on shops who specialise in exhausts ect.. And if they say something about street racing..they are morons.. living in California, just about every town in it has street racing.. but we haven't outlawed aftermarket exhausts.. As for noise, how about 18 wheelers? Or diesel powered trucks.. or airplanes even? The police helicopter that flies over towns every night? ... All create noise.. as for audio systems.. those are able to be turned down.. which I think they are susposed to be after like..10pm.. but 90% of people with a system don't abide by that law either.. |
Yeah, the stupid part is what about super factory modified cars such as Roush, Corvette z06s, The GT40, Ferraris, vipers?, My buddies z06 is really loud from the factory, what are they going to do there, stop production of supercars?

They really oughtta line up all these assholes who want to take every stinkin freedom away from people and have them lined up in the street and shot in the face one at a time. |
That car audio bill is HB 998 if you want to request them vote it down. Bill calls for a $100 fine.
On the bright side, there is also a bill trying to reduce state inspection and emissions testing to every two years and also to not have emissions testing on new cars made after a certain year. |

|
i think this is an old bill from 2004 unless they are trying to get it banned again...but i do believe it wont pass because the fact that thye said every person w/ an aftermarket exhaust street races...that is a very invalid statement.
