did my thread get deleted?

About how fast we had ever gone? any ideas mods? it seemed to me like a fine thread. or was it inappropriate bc of speeding laws? ACK!

What was the title and when was it on as I have seen alot of posts deleted starting form a certain date, maybe we are using the last bit of cyberspace left.

dannyb785 04-27-2005 06:19 AM

It was more or less "whats the fastest youve ever gone?"

and i had a few replies, then i check my eamil this morning and clikc the link to go straight to it and it says the thread doesnt exitst. so i look for it and..not anywhere to be found.

v6what 04-27-2005 11:24 AM

i posted on it last night too

rebelyell 04-27-2005 08:46 PM

me too. I replied to post early this morning. I also started a similar thread in Dec or Jan . It was called How fast have ever been. But i guess the mods cleaned house a bit. Maybe we should not speak of breaking the law so blatantly...:toothy6:

I remember seeing this thread, but I did not delete it. BTW, as the admin for this board, I can see deleted threads too, and it is not there either. However, a thread can be physically removed so that it can not be seen by anyone.

I suspect it was removed. To be honest, we really don't want these kind of threads. While we do not have rules against street racing, we do have rules against discussions of illegal activies.

It is all in how you ask the question. Stating that you have gone 150 mph in your car on a highway is different than saying, "what is the top speed of a car?" However, threads that start with questions like that generally end up talking about how fast people have driven.

I can see the full history. You just need to scroll to the bottom and change the display options to go back in history further.

It was me who deleted that thread. Driving like a moron like that endangers you, and everyone within a big area around you, and "no one around" is no excuse. Its very unsafe and very illegal. Then, when you wrap your car into a circle around a telephone, MY insurance rates go up because of it. Speeding in uncontroled enviorments is untollerable IMO. You want to go 100mph? Do it on a race track.

rebelyell 04-27-2005 09:19 PM

Point taken!! But the last paragraph in my reply was actually on a closed course with a professional driver. so I was only partly guilty of discussing highway infractions. And yes I do agree that street racing is too dangerous for everyone who happens to be nearby. Which is why I do not street race. But I don't think letting her rip through a few gears is actually street racing. as long as you stay within the parameters of the speed limit. give or take a few MPH. But overall I do agree with Matt. I knew thats why this thread got gone.:nono:
