oh yeh... and they make shitty tq... all power that they they have very little of is up at like 5k

why does yer bro want a chick car anyway?

Just to give you an idea of how slow they are.

There was this one guy with a fixed up RSX type S, he had an ECU, intake, cams, and some other stuff and he was running 15s..

dookie2365 10-30-2006 02:37 PM

my friend has an 02, and always says how he wishs he had the 05's final drive and hp. an 02 type s with an intake keeps up with a stock gt. if we race from a stop, i destroy him he has no chance, his is hooked up too all motor, but if hes in vtec he pulls 2cars on me....i wouldnt buy it simply because i dont wana wait to be in vtec to have power

stang00 10-30-2006 04:07 PM

they are quick i droive my friewnds regular 02 rsx when i had my v6 we raced he wooped my ass i had gears intake exhaust stage 2 clutch and flywheel with 275's in the rear and he beat my by 2 car lengths

dookie2365 10-30-2006 06:01 PM

the new civic si is more powerful then the rsx tho. they both have the k20a2 engine but i forgot what makes the civic quicker id have to ask my import friend:t:

i'm a salesman for Acura and i'll say that the 05-06 Type S is decently quick out the box. I didn't say fast. Quick....fast....difference in my book. But the reason why they arn't comming out with an 07 is becuase their working on the 08 (or 09) 2 door TSX.

But i will say this.....the new 07 TL Type-S will run circles around a GT!!!!!!!

So we no care!

dookie2365 10-30-2006 06:36 PM

yea i heard that....but i like the rsx style better then the tsx...at first its pretty girly but ive gotten used to it n it jsut looks like more of a compact sports car then a tsx. i cant picture tsx-s cominig to the street racing scene

Badfish 10-30-2006 07:42 PM

my buddy has one that goes to my school, 06 or 07...its pretty quick, but nothing special...my GT with 4.10s stomped his ass

dookie2365 10-30-2006 07:45 PM

yea...once u get gears with basic bolt ons their not catching u unless they get forced induction with k-pro and a tune

I dunno..4cyl RSX is lol.. I took one in my v6.. i'm bonestock and he had atleast an exhaust. Tell your brother that if hes going to drop that much cash on a RSX to buy a GT and leave the RSX to the chicks. ;x

Honda's and by extension Acura's are usually pretty peppy down low. They're not "fast" by any stretch of the imagination but they're not totally unexciting. Honda has IMO done a very good job of combining small displacement high-rpm engines with pretty darned aggressive gearing to provide cars that deliver good mileage and decent if unamazing performance.

I've had my shot in an RSX-s and the gearing was well set up from the factory to get you into the power band quick and keep it there through the first 3 gears. I'd qualify that with the following: 4th gear on up sucked for power (and I mean bad) but if you don't mind rowing the gears to stay above 4k rpm it's a fun if not exhilerating car to drive. The sick high redline helps minimize the shifting.
