College Mustanging?

I am really wondering what to do with my car... I am in college now and I barely use my car... only from here to my girlfriends college once a week or so... and i am just a freshman and will be here for these four years... not really using my car (which is cool, less miles lol)
should I go for more power... should i make it more enjoyable? right now i think i am going with the latter, slap a chin on there, an X pipe and some suspension work, and I believe I would be more than happy. I am overjoyed with the car as is, I am the kinda guy that walks up to his car and smiles as he gets in, I love this thing, the car just looks great nearly stock... because of the color and everything. I dont know what I would do with a supercharger right now... I dont have friends here that are really into cars so it feels like there isnt that much of a point... not that I need friends to show my car off to or anything, but I have a blast with the car as is... is there something wrong with me? My brother supercharged his car in his sophmore year... but he used his car at college... any of you guys kinda fall out of the scene during college? Would joinng the late model mustang club of CT help me?
I am going home this weekend... maybe I should take my brother's car for a spin... his car is kenne bell'd... which is VERY nice, but it is in storage right now n our garage, with sta-bil in it...

I just got out of college and I still have mine. I got it during, and all the work when in during the time I was in school. Just do a little here, and a little there and you always have something cool and new to look forward to.

I say do the basic's to it, lower it, 4.10's, chin spoiler ect... Then when you graduate and get a real job, do something more radical, or get a new car.

all good advice guys, thanks... I dont think I will do 4.10's, given I do alot of highway driving, like 95% highway. And my dad hates the idea of gears... he seems to think that my gearing is perfect as is and my brother gave up his first gear when he put in 3.73's
(in all reality its because his exhaust is so damn loud you dont go as high in RPMS as you would, if you werent used to driving the car.)

Got mine last year, sophomore year of college. Over the summer I did all the mods that are in my sig. By the time I graduate in May of 2008, I plan on having a built rearend and maybe suspension as well.

take this from a guy who has been too and graduated college. do some simple mods and make the car more custom to your needs. do not throw all kinds of money at it with power adders and the like. bank that cash and save your self up a little nest egg so when stuff happens and trust me i does you have the cash on hand to deal with it and its not sitting under your hood when you need it most. and remeber this, there is all kinds of haters on college campuses, when they see a tricked out ride they get pissed cause they dont have something as nice...we all know how that story ends..get my drift.

so moral of the story...save your money until after school and you a good job, let me stress that again....GOOD JOB...then go balls out and mod the crap out of it. your not at home anymore and you have to pretty much pay your own way....well unless your parents pay for everything and you dont even have a job...if the latter is true...I cant wait until you come to the REAL world...boy..you're gonna piss your pants.

i'm in the same boat. except my car sits at home and i have no clue what to do with it.

Ghostalker 09-20-2006 04:01 PM

well, I did take it for a ride today again, just reminds me about how much I love it. There is no way I am getting rid of this car, nto that the thought crossed my mind. But I think I will do a few mods, maybe more over the summer, and keep it simple for awhile.
