+1....go drive the mach and you'll be way more impressed by the performance compared to the GT....then go drive the Cobra and you'll wet yourself because it destroys both the GT and Mach!! ha ha ha ha

Add some PI H/C/I on yours and you'll be like any other 99+GT

If you are thinking about getting a 01 GT forget about it and go buy an 01 cobra. You will seriously wet your pants on the difference between the two motors.

I almost got one. it was 7k more with 40k more miles than my gt was. I drove the Cobra for an entire day(our pre-owned dept took it in as a trade in)...honsetly I didnt think it was WAY faster then my bolted on GT. Still a great car though...had $$ not been an issue I would have def gotten the Cobra.

I bought my 99 cobra for the engine inside. Every single bolt-on I have seen @ least a 9 HP increase on my car, from what I hear this is much less on GT's.

i test drove an 01 gt once and i really wasnt that inpressed i dont know if it was cuz it was an auto but i felt like it lacked power.

It really is a BIG diff going from the 94-98 to the 99-04s. Our local stang club here is mostly all 99-04s, and we had this one guy with an orange 97 GT, we all went to the track, all the 99-04a were running 13.9s easily, and they were mostly all just normal bolt ons (exhuast, intake etc etc). And the 97 GT which had a lot of bolts on also was BARLY making it into the 14's, he was running 15s and his last run he finally got a 14.99 and thats that he had drag radials. Not even a week after he went and bought him self a 2000 GT and he put all the parts he had on his 97 GT on his 00 GT and now hes in the mid 13s. SO yes, there is a pretty big diff in both.

And also, verts are slower then coupes, so just imagine how much faster it will be if you get a coupe.

yes mine is an auto, but it's been tuned so it's still fun

An automatic transmission that has been tuned is a ton o' fun. I had one on my T-bird years ago.
