How many of you???
Have taken your spare tire and jack out for some weight reduction on your daily driver???
|
nah. i do it at the track. but ive had a flat on the way to school before, and that jack and spare came in handy
|
Eh, i dunno about all that. Not worth it to me, to have to call someone to bring me my spare when a tire goes flat on me...
|
Did anyone else's spare not come with a matching wheel as the rest of em? Sucks.

my car isnt a daily driver but it used to be and I took out my spare a looooooong time ago... i havent had a spare in probably a year and a half. my car is too low for the spare to work on it anyway, and i couldnt imagine trying to get that jack under my car to put the spare on.
if my car gets a flat im callin AAA for a flatbed... |

most trucks have a full size spare, are you sure the corvette has a full size spare? i didnt know they had them. kinda weird for a sports car. |

oh, well thats why. |
i keep my spare in my car, not that it will do any good, the person who owned the car before me stole the jack/ lost it, so it is almost pointless to have the tire in the car. btw this was a year ago, so i should really get around to buyin that jack.:o
|
yup I keep it all there and I also check the air pressure in the spare every
2nd oil change to make sure its ok. There isnt any point in not having the equipment there unless you are at the track. oh and on the spare tire thing: Pcolav6----> its ok man...if all the other cars you have had, had full size spares I can see why you might think that. Most cars these days have whats commonly refered to as a "doughnut" aka a temporary (small) spare. Its small so you get to have trunk space. Most of the Bimmers I work on have full size spares...and some have none at all...but those all have run flat tires. One funny thing...the X3...which is supposed to be an SUV has a doughnut. But you cant take any BMW off road anyway so I guess it doesnt matter. |
Hehe, I keep the lil spare in the trunk well and I also have a full size spare. Instead of that crappy jack that comes with the car, I also keep a smallish floor jack in the trunk. The full sized spare is one of the eight anthracite bullitt rims I have sitting in my garage.

I guess someone jacked my jack cuz it anit threr

my spare is a tiny ass thing...
but i think i might put one of my stock v6 wheels back there in case of a spare...and i dont care about weight...i dont race |
Mines not in. I took it out for the track a while ago and left it out for almost a year. Put it back in and went to the track like a week later and its been out since.
|
I take mine out only at the track though, not sure how much or not it helps.
|
The jack wont fit under my car so I took all that stuff out..I got AAA though
