LOL That's actually what I'm thinking of doing with the Cobra side skirt's,Cobra rear, and the Steeda wing lol

minus the steeda wing, and that will look BA

Ok Jon, here goes.
Why are you so worried about breaking something. To be honest, if you wanna go fast N/a, you are STILL going to break something. You have drag radials. If you dont wanna break, take the damn things off, or you increase your chances SIGNIFICANTLY. Next: Why take a 200 dollar loss on something you dont even know wont work right. Thats stupid. You are throwing money away. Also, who says you have to run a 100 shot. Run a 50-75 shot at first. Save up your money and build your rear end. Its only 800-1000 bucks to make it bulletproof, so why not if you are planning on making the car fast anyway. Next: I know you, you arent happy with your slow mustang. If you sell the spray, you will A. Regret it or B. Have your car for sale within the next 6 months. Its your decision, but me being the money-tight person that I am, Im not going to order something for 1200 bucks one week, and 7 days later, after a little hold up on the install, give it all up and be back where I was, 200 bucks down the drain. Dont give up. If you dont feel comfortable installing it, PAY SOMEONE. There is no shame in having someone do the work on your car, as long as its done right. Theres my .02. |

and it's not the install thats the problem, superdave99gt or darkhrse99 will help me out on that if i decide to keep it (I'm glad I'm buddies with guys who own two of the sickest mustangs on MPH) I just got to thinking about how much I ACTUALLY race...it's almost not worth the thousand bucks. and even when I do race n/a..i have great fun..and like your sayin, i have to buy a new rear diff and everything....i dont want to spend anymore money on the stang.. but what you said about sellin it was probably right...because it has been considered... ah i dont know!!!! i wish i had a KB 1.7 with a build motor, t-56 and a built rear..then id be happy :) |

why cant it be FAST and reliable and fun
|
Good choice on staying N/A! Good track times or a somewhat fast N/A car is SO much more impressive than a car with n20....That's just my opinion :beerchug:
So if puting a Cobra wing on your car makes you a poser, how is it different from putting a Saleen wing on your car??? Just a question....The only way you'll be a poser is if you start sticking parts on that say Cobra/Saleen or putting there badges on your car...other then that it's fair game dude! |

Seriously, if you could go for a ride in my car you'd change your mind.......nothing hits like nitrous Jay |
well i decided to keep it...because this car is too fawking slow to not spray...
mods can delete the NX for sale thread |
Ah, you've gone to the darkside! ha ha ha.....oh well have fun man!
|
Sell the car and buy a cobra if you want N/A power. They actually aren't all that expensive...and your trade-in will make a nice down payment.
|
Smart man. :) You'll love it Im sure.

Yeah, you'd be better off keeping your car than getting a 99/01 cobra......if you were going down that route you'd be WAY better off getting a Mach
|
Ok, the mach 1, tuned with exhaust throws 300 rwhp and its 305 bhp stock. The 01 cobra has 320 bhp so can you imagine what a tune and exhaust will do??? not to mention getting gears and LT's. That thing could get 350rwhp easily.

If i can give you some simple advice, dont be a jackass with it. Burnouts trying to spin your tires as far as possibly on the bottle etc.. you will eventuly **** up and it will backfire. So in short dont be a jackass and your car will love the bottle and last a long ass time. Oh and expect to kill a whole bottle in a day or two cause you will. i used a FEW bottles my first week on the mustang lol. |

http://www.mustang50magazine.com/fea...ach/index.html I've heard the same but how can the mach engine be a tuend cobra engine if the cobra engine gives 320 hp out of the factory and the mach only gives 305? |
Dont let the numbers fool you.

Jon....had you taken my advice (which everyone scoffed at) you would not be in this picture. - lol
Why? Because, if I recall I suggested getting a ZEX or Venom kit and calling it a day. NX is the best, BUT for the ocassional user, the guy who wants to spray, for the guy who likes to pull into car show and show-off nitrous, these kits are ideal. And for $500 - $600 complete, you won't be feeling the $1200 pain. ****, I sold a complete Venom setup with all the bells and whistles for I think $400. Now, for the serious racer, I would go NX. Want some fatherly advice? Based on what you just told us and your concerns, anyone who is young with minimal income, and who uses their car as a DD, really should not spray. If you can afford to use, you need to be able to afford to fix it when it breaks....and it will...eventually. Also, cams are no guarentee either. I watched a stang at the track last year ruin a motor because of a problem right afer a cam swap. I know my thoughts may not be popular, but you asked and based on your situation, I would have issues. If you were my kid, I would not let you put nitrous on the car. Instead, I would be inclined to have a project car that my son and I could work on, modify the piss out of it, and afford to fix when it takes a dump. But, at least we would still have a car to drive when the hot rod is broke. |
Jon:
Regarding the loss of $200.....don't make two bad decisions if that is what you decide to do. In finance, we call that a "sunk cost". Just because you loose on something is no reason to stick with it. |
if you do cams... you need new rollers, lifter valve springs ETC...
If you dont get all the stuff you need ya'll destroy the cams... Cams are easy installs... just buy all the stuff and do it right |
