Well i am gonna do it, gonna paint the front bumper myself

I have nasty rock chips etc... and i am tired of my ****ty front bumper.
It was bad the day i bouight it because of the roads in NC and SC are covered in rocks. So i have been reading latley on painting and i have slowly started gathering the tools. I have a compressor and i bought a cheap paint gun (hope it isnt to ****y). Gonna grab a used bumper from the junkyard and pratice on that. So that way if it comes out like **** i can redo it and take my time on it.
I think the hardpart will be matching the paint. Mine isnt really fadded at all as i keep it in the garage alot. So we will see, i am just excited to finally try this painting thing full out not just on some few small parts like i have in the past.

I will post pics in a few months when it happens. I think i will have it done by the end of summer, total cost should be around 200bucks. For used cheap paint gun, small thing of paint, clear and some primer. I have been pricing things out i think it will be $200-300 hopefully more on the 200 side lol. But then i can do some more work later on so it will pay off.

Sorry for the rant.

I need to have mine repainted too. I talked to the guys at work and theyll sand, fill in screw holes, and fix anything else plus paint for 100.
:)

Hey let me know how that goes I might pay you a couple bucks to do the same for my car. That tear in my bumper I had fixed is rearing its ugly head..... You learn how to do spot jobs? You could fix your door from the belt buckle scratch.

Well if the front bumper comes out nice, then yeah i am gonna fix that door as well. Like everything if you read enough you can do it. So hopefully i have read enough now lol. read to books on painting allready.

Just take your time and do good sweeps and it should be fine. I have painted a whole car before. It was a race car and actually turned out really nice considering I had never done it before. Like I said, take your time and make sure you paint it somewhere that is not that dusty so you dont have trash in the paint. If you have a shed or storage building, wet some old sheets if you have any and hang them on the walls. Make sure you spray the whole floor down also and that will keep the dust down and you should come out with a good paint job. Make sure you don't run the paint. LAYERS!
