How did you file your taxes?
 

Well yeah.. I'm waiting to the last minute possible of course, anyways I'm trying to figure out how I want to go about this. I don't want to go somewhere like H&R block to do it because I owe the government money, I don't really feel like giong to pay someone to let me pay the government lol. I was thinking about just buying TurboTax and doing it through there, they still charge you to e-file though don't they? How did you guys do it?

How do i do my taxes? I do em like the stud i am!

I did mine a while back. i got about 3,800 back. I Rule.

i tried doing mine online but I didnt have last years statements so i had to mail em in. took about 3 weeks for a return.

Had mine done by a tax lady at AAA taxes. Didnt get much back, but thats what you want to happen.

if you dont feel like the hassle of doing it yerself i know a place you can buy baby chinese girls.


Yah, all of that is really because i bought a house and the interest is a deeducktable

i did mine andgot 850 back....but thats b/c i was pimp and able to file on 1040EZ....(thank god i dont have to itemize yet)

I use a CPA and he charges me about $250.

My advice to you young stays is to stay away from Turbo Tax and places like H&R Blockheads. Find a CPA in your area who specializes in taxes and start using that person. If you have a simple return, a professional CPA won't charge you much at all, but what you get is the SAME GUY every year doing your taxes who can start to give you good advice.....about now and planning for the future.

I sent one of my employes to my guy. Usually he does his own taxes, but this year he wanted a pro. My CPA got him back about $3500 more then what Turbo Tax would have paid him, because those stupid programs do not ask all the right questions nor do they understand your particular situation and how to go about making changes in the way you do things. PLUS, he is going to go back over his old returns and re-file. My CPA charged him $85....and now he has a client for life.

I went to www.taxact.com and filed tonight!!

only cost me like $15 to file :) im pretty happy

hah...i will be a cpa....HOLLA....i still gotta finish now, get 30 hours(masters) and then sit for the cpa....gay gay gay

I used to work for turbo tax and there's ways you can get the program for free and e-file for free. Just go to www.statetaxfreedom.com and if you qualify you get to do everything for free. That's what i did. Got about 1300 back too.

BTW, did mine via TurboTax online through my Credit Union.

I used TurboTax Premier...but I didnt have alot to actually put in and deduct and so forth.

The only thing that took forever for me were the damn stocks and mutual funds that I sold. That was a LOT of work.

Have 3, I got $7300 back. A friend of my dad does mine. He's very very good!

EXACTLY I sold some stock last year and we couldnt figure it out, so we took it to some lady who did it for us :D

Everyone makes a big deal out of getting money back. If you got a refund, you paid too much in the first place.

The way you need to look at it is how to reduce your total tax burden. Like I stated before, having a CPA is a vaulable resource that everyone should invest in. Free turbo tax? It aint free if you are loosing out on good advice and proper tax planning.

I can pick up the phone whenever I want and call my CPA/Accountant and ask any question.

I screwed myself out of $600+ this year. My own fault, not TurboTax, but if I would've had a CPA, it never would have happened.:wallbash:

You seriously need to pay less in taxes on each paycheck and put that money somewhere that it will earn some interest. that's over $300/month that you could be earning interest on instead of giving the government an interest free loan!

you seriously need to do a better job figuring out how much to pay per month..

Most people like getting the big check at the end of the year because they think its neat to have a check for $3K +, but they dont understand you could be gaining interest on that $$.

Oh well all those people blowing their tax refund on dumb stuff keeps the economy happy so Im all for it. Hell I am sure MT loves it because you read dozens of "what to buy with my tax return" threads.

I will be changing my withholding info so that I get back less at the end of the year and more each week.

It's not too late. You can always re-file. It is no big deal...just extra work.

Nah, cause it may open up a can of worms. I will leave it alone.

I make it so I get back more each check also, I still would've got money back if my mom didn't claim me. :( oh well, she didn't claim me last year but she decided to this year :(

Filing taxes just wastes time.....
