What % tint should i get? please help!!

Alright so Im hopefully getting my tint installed tomorrow for pretty cheap at 65 bucks and i am wondering what % do you guys suggest? I want a tint that is dark enough to look cool and so people can't look in but I also don't want it too dark to the point where i can't see at night. By the way here are the tint laws for Florida:

*Windshield - Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
*Front Side Windows - Must allow more than 28% of light in.
*Back Side Windows - Must allow more than 15% of light in.
*Rear Window - Must allow more than 15% of light in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a noobie when in come to window tinting.

Just follow the tint laws. Because florida's law isnt that bad at all. 15% is dark enough for me.

I was gonna say 20% all around. IF you really wanna be legal, than just get 28 on the front windows, but I doubt they're gonna pull u over if you had 20% in the front. Now 10% maybe different.

TClark22 04-08-2006 11:02 PM

wow legal?? 30% tint is absolutely nothing

I would go for 20% all the way around...cops dont stop you for tint unless your doing somethin else

20% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandman316 04-09-2006 12:47 PM

can you still see fairly well with 20% tint at night time?

TClark22 04-09-2006 12:50 PM

yep...actually i wish i went 5%...20% is not dark enough during day

I was pulled over for having 20% on my driver/passanger side doors. Legal tint here in ohio is 50%. I was doing nothing else illegal, I was going 42 in a 40. Fine was only 35 bux, but after having to pay all the stupid court fees, etc. it brought it up to 110.

Thats nothing, I got pulled on the way to school while driving my bothers stang wich had 5% all around. When the cop pulled me he checked the tint wich some gismo, I told him that it was'nt my car, but he still gave me a $200+ ticket. He told me that if I pulled the tint off before the court date he would get the judge to drop the ticket. So I contuened driving my brothers car and the day before the court date I convinced my brother to let me pull his tint off. When I got to court the cop told the judge that I dove car for weeks with the tint still on, so I told her I was'nt my car, and I still pulled the tint off. So she cut the ticket in half. Neadless to say that cop was a dick, as are most of the ones I have encountered.

The cop that checked mine also used that tint reader. He told me himself that he was only one of 2 cops in the city that will pull people over for tint. There's at least 50 cops in the city too.

haha wow...no offense to any cops in here but why the hell would you waste your time pulling people over for tint??

i have had my tint on for the past like 6 months and drove by many many many cops around here...no tickets...they dont even car

also no one has gotten me for the taillight tint yet but they have only been on for like 2 weeks

Just go legal, there is no sense in getting a ticket for something you can prevent. The car looks just as good and in my opinion, my car wasnt ANY cooler inside with the new tint.

lol, yesterday i got pulled over for my tint on my way to a meeting by a male cop on a motorcycle and a female in a car...

the cop asked why i needed such dark tint on my windows and i told him "because wanted dark tint" and he started being a dick, got out his little meter and said something about big fines for 5% tint and blah blah blah. he asked for my id and i showed my my military id and all he said was "ok, have a nice day" and left...

meanwhile the female officer started saying how much she liked my car and we stood there talking for about 10 mins about mustangs after the other guy left. it was pretty cool although i was about 15 mins late to the meeting.

i barely drive the car, it was just really nice outside so i figured i would take it to work that day.
