well...

i was wondrin what ya all do for yer computers security and as well as keeping it working and loading quickly...

this may sound like alot, but, w/ all these programs my computer is faster than a cheata on cocaine...

VIRUS Protection
-AVG free (finds ALOT of stuff macafee doesnt)
-Macafee w/ firewall (just for laughs n giggles, cam w/ my computer)
-Hijack this (does almost nothing, hard to use, again, just for laughs and giggles)

Anti-SPYWARE
-Adaware SE free (finds stuff that microsoft doesn't... and the free ver. is better than the paid)
-Microsoft Anitspywre (finds stuff that Adaware does not)
-Tune Up Utilities (highly recomended, goes through every file and the registry and makes my computer 10x faster)
-Tor & Privoxy & TorCP bundle (No ip adress visable, encrypts my connection to the internet)
-Accelerate (optimizes internet connection speed)

BROWSER
-Firefox (a MUST have... more secure than microsoft IE, and easier to use than opera, the extensions are great... there are so many...)

hardware and software firewall protect mine...

I use Trendmicro PC-cillin cuz it rocks all the other anti-viruses faces, and spysweeper


ps greg.. do you post from class very often?

I use a Mac.

...and Linux.

No problems. No extra software needed just to keep my machines 'safe'. Behind a hardware firewall too.

The wife's machine is Windows XP; but she knows how to use it. AVG, Firefox, Thunderbird - no problems.

i dorm...

most ips are from my room, some are from the wifi(in class) some are from other dorm rooms, some are from the house(fraternity), and from end of dec to mid jan are from home in jackson...

BTW... can some1 try n trace the ip from this message... i wanna see if the privoxy is workin...
