difference in rears

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 8.8gt rear and the 8.8cobra rear? prefferably in 94?

i need to buy a rear and was considering picking up a cobra instead of the gt... but that would be pointless if they were exactly the same...

94 models are the same i think

i do believe i heard the 94-98 solid axles are shorter than the 99+ solid axles... dont remember who told me that

the 94-98 are shorter then 99-04 mustangs.

Otherwise they are the same only difference is cobras have slightly better gearing (3.55). I dont know why you are looking for a different 8.8 when your car allready has one.

if u want a stronger rear i have an auburn for sale

spike... I have a bent axel... and when i went to pull it out the little screw that held it in was broke...

dom...
the 8.8s are plenty strong... i was just lookin into it... if i can get a cobra for the same as a gt i'll get it for the better gearing

yea the 8.8 is strong but if you bent an axle youll break a differential. i have an auburn differential for sale not a complete rear
