A long extension.....PB buster a lot of it.........and a swival socket

All I had was 2, 6 inch extensions and a 3 inch extension. Theres only one way to really get to those bolts just need to position yourself just right

you need to spray them with pb blaster, wd40 etc.. and let it soak over night that will loosen them up. otherwise its hard as hell to get them off.

lube em up and turn them... i ended up breakin a header stud on each side... then i had to pull the headers and heat the left over stud to get it out... its no fun at all... but thats part of workin on cars...

now go bust yer ass and get to work... and good luck too btw

GREG@94GT 01-24-2006 03:41 PM

Swivel + extensions. Just turn it till you blow your nuts out, it'll come loose.

They're easiest to do on a lift with a 12" 1/2" drive extension a swivel socket and a 1/2" breaker bar or use air tools.

Mine wasn't that hard but it took a good 80+lbs of force to knock it loose. Another trick is to tighten it just a tad and then it'll spin off easier. Risk in that is breaking the stud off at the header and having to pull the header like Greg.

its sucks... but it happens... specially when theres alot of rust...

just greese... try NOT to use a swivel unless its a craftsmen... i broke 2 craftsmen swivels, no big deal cause to take em back and get them replaced...

but you will most likely break the swivel if its that bad...

good luck again

thanks guys...so extentions and swivels will work...well the pipe will be comin in here either today or tomorrow so looks like i need to make a tool run!

Shambles 01-25-2006 02:49 PM

Trust me, its a PITA any way you do it.

Air tools will help you TONS.

TClark22 01-25-2006 03:00 PM

GET CRAFTSMEN!

i dont think air tools will help you loosen the nuts... they help a ton once they're loose though... and to use them you NEED a good compressor...

madmatt 01-25-2006 03:29 PM

Yea Pb and extensions/swivel will help. Mine wasnt too bad.
