Exhaust Clearance problem with Springs
Just wondering if any of you guyz with either side exhaust or other set ups have clearance problems when lowering your car? I got the Spintech Side Exhaust on the car and the exit pipes dip pretty low for a sec before coming back up in order to clear the frame. Now the car is getting Lowered and everyone is telling me this is a bad idea because of clearance, is it really guna be that big of a deal? or are they just over reacting?

It probably will scrape on those monster curbes, so just take it easy and you should be fine. How's the exhaust sound, post a clip.

Yes, you will have lots of problems with it. A buddy of mines had the spintech side exhaust like the 00 Cobra R and at every speed bump, it scratched...one day he was speeding and forgot about a speed bump...and needlesss to say, it tore up his exhaust and messed up his side skirt...

a side note... I've seen guys jack up the back end just a tad to give extra ground clearance for such things giving a slight rake to the stance front to back. Beware that such a change will shift the weight of the car forward and significantly loosen the rear.
I got lazy after putting my newest live axle in and didn't adjust the rear coil overs to flatten the car, so the rear end was up just a tad... got hella loose all the time, no traction in the back (still really predictable though... just way too loose). You may have to sacrifice a little ride height for a little clearance. This is why I use dumps. |
