Is something wrong with my car?
Well recently with these outrageous gas prices, i've began to actually care about my cars gas mileage and to say the least i'm very dissapointed. :( ....I filled up my tank the other day and I got about 186 miles out of a full tank! I know i have a header leak on my drivers side(very small) an was not aware that a leak would give me this horrible gas mileage. I did the egr delete when i installed my longtubes so i don't know if that is the problem as i know the egr helps regulate gas mileage. Pumping $43 dollars every four day (for 87  )s is killing me. What does your car give on average on a full tank?
My mods are a followed. 02' 5-speed 3.73 geard GT vert. Hooker LT's Hooker X pipe Dynomax bullets welded on 2.5" tail pipes Accufab 75 MM tb/ C&L plenum Hypertech power programmer EGR delete It has alot more mods than this but none that would affect gas mileage. :( Help me out guys.. |
Ever since I put in 3.90s and ive just been driving normally, I start in 2nd gear and shift into 4th to save some gas. Ill either do that or 1st, 2nd, 4th. I dont know how much exactly that it helps but ive been to the gas station a little bit less. Try that out...

dont bitch until you have a blower motor and 4200 stall

i just got 20 mpg..you should get the same especially since your have a free-flowing exhaust, i've been told you can usually pick up 1-2 mpg

That's about the average for city driving. With your gears you could probably shift at 1200 rpm and be fine. This would save some gas.Make sure your tires are inflated properly. If this is highway mileage then you have a major problem.

I get anywhere from 25 to 28 mpg with the listed mods.
