Is this worth buying?

I`m looking at this as well as a shift kit. Is it worth the dollar or is a trans cooler a better buy? Do I even need a transmission cooler for an occasional use car?

For nearly $200 I think just a cooler would be a much better investment and do a better job of cooling. Around here you can get a universal cooler for around $30 and just plumb it inline after the stock trans cooler. Without a trans temperature gauge it's hard to tell if you really need it, but it's cheap insurance.

What FR500 said.

That`ll do me ;)

Ok Trans cooler it is.

What one? Somebody will need to `push` a couple under my nose as i dont know what one I need.

This ok?

Oh, and I`m assuming this is good to go too?

both of those i say yes :)

Both of thoes are good. That cooler seems a little expensive but it is black as most are plain silver. You don't need anything fancy or large, nothing with fans or wires. Hayden makes a good plain cooler that is cheap around here, however I'm sure you have to deal with shipping.

Thanks men. I`m good to go. :)

Fucking money pit this Mustang malarkey.:omghi2u:

Shit. Rang late model rest today and they said unless I spend a minimum of $300 a time they won`t ship international. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

What about transgo?

any of these maybe?

Sorry for the continual questions but better asking and buying the right thing than fucking up.:o Being in Scotland I`m kinda limited in what I can get.

Hey Brian, I really don't know the kind of driving you do, but I don't you are going to abuse your transmission to the point that you will need a cooler of any kind. FR500 does a lot of racing and needs a cooler to help with abuse.

I would just keep good fluid in it and a clean filter and you should be good to go.
Just my 2 pennies!

Transgo kits are good. We've used them many times. As far as the cooler, you wont need a huge one since it's not a tow vehicle but automatics are destined to fail (the words of an expert rebuilder)and heat really helps them do so. You may not NEED an external cooler, but it will make much more of an impact on transmission life than a deep pan. Plus, your car sits low enough. I can't tell you how many stock pans I've seen scraped up. Imagine it sitting a couple inches lower than what it does now.
