Brakes Squealing
 

Just got my brakes replace about two weeks ago. After i had them replaced they were fine, no squealing nothing. after a few miles they started to squeal under moderate braking. Im not doing heaving braking where the tires squeal but just under moderate braking you know when you press the brake just a little bit more when your coming to that final stop?

Going to take it back in tomorrow to see what they say. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be the cause of this issue?

Possibly no anti-squeal on the back of the pads.

Sounds like thats the problem to me.

I don't think that Anti-Squeal stuff has to do with braking. Brakes usually Squeal when you're not braking, so that's why they use that stuff. It shouldn't do anything when preasure is being pressed on them, only when they're free and moving a little bit.

My breaks do the same, but without braking. If I brake then they stop squealing, if I'm not breaking then they squeal.

I'll put a dose of physics on ya. Sound is vibration. If your pads are able to create a vibration frequency that we can hear, then they will squeal. Dogs can hear our brakes making noise when we can't. Anti-squeal compound simply acts like an insulator that prevents vibration. With the combination of anti-rattle clips, anti-squeal compound, proper backing plates, and pad compound, brakes will not make noticable noise. My race pads, Hawk HP+ and HT-8 make a lot of noise due to thier compound despide liberal doses of anti-squeal.

my brake pads were vibrating at moderate braking at moderate speeds and my shims wernt working correctly so they fixed it, now i have no more squeal. It was getting annoying.
