Rev Limiter?
I guess ever since I returned my stock tune I haven't had a rev limiter. I just noticed this a couple of days ago when it over-reved (to an unknown rpm), but I could hear that it did.
Any insight? |
Should be able to set it in the tuner underneath the settings for the tune. It should have a neutral rev limiter and drive rev limiter.

stock is 7k for fuel cutoff IIRC. Redline is sorta a suggestion.
|
Correct. But why, when I returned ecu back to stock, didn't it go back to the stock rev limiter. As far as I know there is no rev limiter, I don't feel like testing it out and messing up my engine. It must have gotten to 6500 rpm the other day before I realized it.

nope. Redline is meaningless. At about 7100 you should be in full valve float. It's not like the motor will grenade at 5951rpm if you cross into redline area. It just means you're reaching the limits of your valvetrain and or bottom end and you should be aware that damage can occur suddenly at such speeds. It's the factory's way of asking you nicely not to blow your motor.
Some stock programs were 6050. I revved both of my mustangs to well over 6200rpm when I first got them. |
Alright then I'm just going to quit worrying about it because it doesn't happen very often. Thanks yet again for you knowledge.
I have gotten really fucking close to 7000 rpm when I had the race tune while the tires were spinning in the rain. |

Yes, seriously. Well since my nittos were fucking expensive as hell I don't like to waste them, therefore I only have a little fun and spin the tires only while the road is soaked. I didn't know I had no rev limiter and didn't have a close enough eye on the tach.

Stock limiter is 6,150rpms from what I recall. It should be back once your on the stock tune.
|
It is gone. Don't know how it could be there after I returned the stock tune.
