Cobra rear brake question
This maybe a dumb one, but can the GT rear calipers be used with: http://www.cjponyparts.com/cobra-rea...2004/p/M2300M/? At that price you can't go wrong, but I hate to get this and still need the Cobra calipers.
|
After watching krenogins rear end swap I would say no, not sure though.

it clearly states
Used to install Mustang Cobra, Mach 1, or Special Edition rear calipers on a 1994-03 Mustang GT |
Yeah man, can't you read?:p
Just kidding. Sorry, I didn't even bother looking that close at the link. |
Yes I can read, but there are times when "it won't work" can be it will with a slight tweak. My biggest thing is http://www.cjponyparts.com/baer-brak...-2004/p/DBR15/, how would this work and the fist one not?

sorta... you'd need thinner than normal pads. You can do stuff like take a grinding wheel to your pads and remove a few hundredths of an inch of friction material.
|
It can be done but takes effort. When I attempted it I had limited time to make it all work together and it was easier to just buy the cobra calipers and not worry about it.
R3d, can't one just purchase cobra pads, which are thinner, rather than grinding down GT pads? |
rotor thickness is the 2nd part of the issue. You need to buy cobra pads and still grind on em.
I had at one point just chipped the brake-in coatng off my EBC greens in the rear and then they fit. |
