Radiator Fan/Smog Pump help

My smog pump is going out, even though I don't need it. Tried doing the Smog Pump bypass, but I was bothered how my exhaust sound went down. Therefore I put it back on.

My Radiator Fan went out last night and now I need to replace it. On the Radiator it says 5.0/4.6 I have a 1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

Question: Ford says I need a 94 95 96 5.0 Fan.
Ford says I need a 95-96 Smog Pump.

Is this true?

well, the 4.6 came out in 96 and is a completely different engine. i don't think they even have a smog pump, but memory could possibly be failing. i don't think there is any such thing as a 96 5.0 fan. not on a mustang anyway.

you need stuff for the 94-95 5.0.

did some checkin on 50resto.com and cardone

the 94-95 smog pump is different from the 96-98

96+ have an electric fan and i believe you have a belt driven fan (unless it's been converted)

anyway, 95 and earlier= belt fan; 96+ = electric fan

so there won't be any mixing/matching of parts between 95 and 96

I got another one and it's an Electric fan. haha
says 5.0/4.6 on it. It's exactly like mine, but works WAY better then mine has ever. This one came of a 96 though.
Smog Pump, I'm thinking of saying screw it and just remove it all, then buy a shorter belt once I find it.

Thank you!

50 resto ( among other places) has a nice smog pump delete pulley you might like. then you can use the stock size belt

Yeah I could have got one on E-Bay for like $20.
But I'd rather remove it all and just get a shorter belt, less drag, removing more weight and more room.
I don't like the fact that it reduces the sound of my car (enough for me to notice and get annoyed by), but it's going to be cheaper then buying another Smog Pump.
